this coming week sees a grudge match with a fellow dwarf hold against two forces of weakling elgi.
I am proposing to use the following throng but would appreciate advice from one with a longer beard as i am still a youngling in the ways of battle!
rune of stone
Warrior x 20 205pts
Thunderer x 10 140pts
Ironbreaker x 15 245pts
Rune of determination
Grudge Thrower 125pts
Brace of pistols
Rune of accuracy
Organ Gun 120pts
If anyone has some advice before we march then i welcome it. I have a suspicion that the sneaky pointy eared weaklings may be fielding some kind of fire mage on a young Drakk. The cowards! This has meant that i leave my favorite gyrocopter at home and take my newly forged organ gun instead.
Also the runesmiths have crafted a rune of determination for the ironbreakers as they have been quite cowardly in past battles!
Would you be able to tell us roughly what the other Dwarf player has? Because then we won't say you're missing one thing when the other Dwarf player has it?
If you think they're going to have Magic, then a runesmith or two would be good, apart from that it depends on what your ally is fielding.
sorry for not replying royal
i ended up taking this list, while my ally took a mainly shooty list with one block of warriors
MR of gromril
Rune of stone
Rune of cleaving
Dwarf warrior x 20
Thunderer x 10
ironbreaker x 15
The elves took a magic heavy list with not a single combat character. they had something like 14 power dice between them (2 level 2 mages each and a banner that adds d3). The ironbreakers managed to set up opposite dragon princes and a unit of white lions with a mage so i stuck both thanes in to them. First turn was pretty hectic magic wise and about a third of the ironbreakers went down along with a number of my allies warriors. For our return we reduced a spearmen unit from 20 (+ mage) down to 4 and they panicked never to return. It all went downhill for the elves from there. This as my first time using a gyrocopter and it was great fun to use. The ironbreakers got charged by both the dragon princes and white lions in turn 3 and managed to wipe both out by turn 5. and my other warrior unit demolished another block of spearmen with mage, which then got run down by the gyrocopter when they broke. All in all by the end of turn 5 (we didnt carry on) we had lost a block of warriors and 10 quarrellers and the elves had 2 bolt throwers, a mage and 3 white lions left. A massacre for the stunties! give us our ambassadors beards back you pointy eared weaklings!
