    2000pts Dwarf Tecnophobes...

    Ok I love the dwarf background (who dousnt?) and have always wanted an army of them. However I have been fooling around with the younger races (skaven and Bretonians to be exsact) for the last two years and havnt had a chance to embrace my dwarfishness.I will be useing a technophobic hold set in tradition and so will be useing the goblin hewer instead of organ guns (useing organ rules). I hope to use the metal longbeards rather than the plastics (that I think fail to do them justice) but anywho getting side-tracked the list!

    seems sound to me however with your lord i would make a few changes....

    i usually try to roll with this---
    lord -306pts
    shield bearers
    rune of stone
    master rune of adamant
    rune of fury
    rune of cleaving
    master rune of kragg the grimm
    dwarf handgun
    great weapon
    and tbh toughness 6 5 attacks at str 7 with a 1+ save rocks

    cool I do like that set up...

    but where do I find the 96pts to impliment it?

    I mean what unit or warmachine is it best for me to shave points of?

    welll in my oppinion i would drop either the grudge thrower or perhaps if your facign larger bodies fo troops a bolt thrower beacuse the bolt throwers will give you 145 points to play with am i right? so then the extra 50 or so points lefo over could be used to beef up your anti magic with another 2 runes of spell breaking on your smith also swap the runesmiths GW for a shield
    that way you would have your 2 goblin hewers (organ guns) wich being str 5 will decimate all T4 troops with a -3 armour and your grudge thrower with the +1 str if you get a hit with that theyre gone
    however facing something like an entirely mounted chaos army (very very elite but nasty army) then your crowd controlling grudge thrower just isnt going to help all that much wheras 2 bolt throwers will pick them off more assuredly so in that case i would drop the grudge throwers leaving you a whopping 280 points to play with - the 100 extr for your lord - 50 for your runesmith you now have 130 points to spend maybe adding a few extra ranks of longbeards

    though if your not prepared to drop a warmachine or 2 then i would loose the runes of penetrating as i said before 2x organ guns is a potention of 20 str 5 -3 armour shots per turn (averages out at like 14-16 i find utilising rerolls) your two grudge throwers with runes of acuracy are going to take a big enough toll anyway without the +1 str as i dont think you are allowed armour saves vs a stone thrower and the bolt throwers dont need +1 str as they are str 7 and can pop chariots as it is also your lord will be str 7 (mine has popped quite a few chariots as it is )

    I rekon that droping the runes of penetration of the grudge throwers is fair but I feel on the bolt throwers its nesesarry as without it I cant pop chariots or threaten greater deamons (wounding on 4's is a little rubbish...) As I face both regularly I think the 50pts is justified... I also play nurgle deamons alot (I mean everyother game...) so By droping acuracy on one grudge thrower I can add burning making them both plague bearer killers!

    this makes me 70pts enough for me to deck out my own lord

    so 5 attacks always striking first... + shield bearers
    that are streanth 8 against anything to worry about
    with a re-rollable 2+ save

    still resonable at everything but rubbish at nothing.
