this army is going against high elves and was wanting some advice on troop selection and tactics against high elves. any help will be greatly appreciated.
1 lord w/ MR of spite, light armor, MR of gromril, GW, rune of cleaving (214)
1 engineer (65)
1 Dragon slayer (65)
2 units of 20 warriors w/ shields and heavy armor, FC (410)
2 units of 10 Xbowmen (240)
19 hammerers (266)
19 slayers (209)
2 cannons w/ rune of forging (270)
1 organ gun (125)
1 gyrocopter (140)
A couple of quick things that struck me.
You cannot have two cannons with the same rune combination. If you really want two cannons with the rune of forging (not a bad idea) add the rune of fire to one of them. It's only five points and keeps you within the rules for runesmithing.
Your lord cannot have a greatweapon with a rune on it. Once you add a rune to a weapon it is treated like a hand weap with the added benefit of the rune. I'd take the GW (you'll always strike last against elves) and replace the rune of cleaving with the Rune of Resistance to make your lord extra tough.
I also think you should dump the engineer and the organ gun and put in another unit of warriors and outfit them with heavy armor, shields and great weapons.
Use your slayers and hammerers to stall his cav and then flank them. Use your GW troops to take out his heavy infantry. Use your cannons to destroy his bolt throwers and chariots (if he has any).
Also, I didn't see a battle standard bearer. The battle standard is especially vital for dwarves. By placing it in the center of your line you can almost guarentee that your units are going to hold. You don't have the flexibility to adjust if his silverhelms break through your line. Make sure they don't.
Additionally, a runesmith with the Master Rune of Balance will work wonders for disrupting his magic.
Typically, in a 2000 point army, I want to make sure that I have at least five solid blocks of infantry... especially against fast moving enemies like the elves.
Lastly, you might want to reconsider the gyro. He is likely to have repeater bolt throwers and archers with good range. The gyro is great for getting behind enemy foot troops and march blocking etc... but it won't hold up to massed missile fire for very long at all.
There's my advice... hope it helps.
i would drop the slayers cuz he gonna shot them to hell and they have no armour
dragon slayer needs master rune of swiftness, rune of fury, rune of might and another hand weapon or master rune of swiftness, rune of fury x2 or rune of fury x1 and rune of might ........with out these he is dead as door nail
drop the lord and get a thane with gw, light armour, master rune of gromril, rune of resistence,
with extra points get more warriors or something maybe another cheaper thane for another warrior unit
give crossbow shields if he uses fast troops like knights then they can kick ass in cc

my gyrocopter is better than your gyrocopter
i also play tomb kings
I'd drop the slayers as well as the engineer and organ gun, but thats already been said. :p
Try getting another unit of warriors and cross bow men with the points that you gained. And get some iron breakers while yer at it, those guys rock ^_^
Also for the lord y in the world would u get light armor? Give him gromil armor.
Also maybe you'd like a rune priest since HE are good with magic.
I'm not so sure that you'd want cannons as well. Maybe a stone thrower to kill the HE's vulnerable yet powerful ranked infantry units.
"Heresy is like a garden weed, it won't stop feeding until you... BURN THE WHOLE DAMN GARDEN WITH A FLAMER, BURN IT, BURN IT TO HELL!!!!!" "Is there a wittle puppy in the garden? ITS A DAEMON! BURN IT!"
2000 or 1000 pt battles vs. a magicy army ALWAYS!!! get at least one runesmith usually 2 runesmiths and a lord is good imo
Mr. Burns: Why is everyone being so insolent today?
Smithers: Well sir, it is christmas...
Mr. Burns: I'll decide when its christmas!
One Runesmith with the Master Rune of Balance will do nicely in a 2000 point army. You'll have 5 dispel dice plus one of his casting dice that you get to steal. Let his magic missils and junk hit your units. Dwarves are tough... they can take it. Focus your dispelling on protecting warmachines and keeping him from moving his troops faster.
That's my two cents.
