First things first, I'm in it for fun. I don't expect to win (at all), so I'm going to try and make my games fun for me and hopefully my opponent.
I say I don't expect to win as I have very little experience and this is my first real GW tourny. So no high expectations here.
Hw, GA, S
MRoSwiftness, RoCleaving, RoStone
Thane - BSB (138 )
RoCleaving, RoResistance, RoStone
19 Warriors (196)
HW, HA, S
16 Warriors (201)
GW, HW, HA, S
10 Thunderer's (145)
15 Longbeards (265)
GW, HA, S
FC - RoBattle
Stone Thrower (133)
Flame Cannon (140)
Total - 1490pts
Now the gerneral idea is to have the three blocks in the centre of my battleline, the thunderers and one or maybe both WMs out on one of the flanks. Try to force them into the combat units and hopefully grind them down.
Thane - LBs
BSB - HW Warrs
RS - Roaming/WMs.
Now I also have a number of options open to me, one was to add 19 Ironbreakers with RoBattle instead of the Longbeards (drop the BSB's equipment to MRoGromril only). Bringing me to a total of 1499pts, but lacking any hard hitting units apart grom the warriors and gaining a strong holding unit.
Now, I've left myself little notice really as I go on hols from Friday to the Friday (meaning I return home two days before Conflict) leaving me the Sat to print off lists and pack army etc. So Basically I have tomorrow to see any suggestions and maybe the Sat before hand to 'fiddle' with the list.
Anything you can think that would help would be welcome. But please remember I'm in it for fun, so I will ignore any thing I consider cheesy or unsportsman like. Even if it is a viable tactic.
If you suggest something not here, I have plenty of other things I can add in (all units but an engineer and Hammerer's. Everything else I have at least one unit of, 20 in size).

i think for your tactic, you have a near perfect armylist, (stick with the Longbeards)
Mr. Burns: Why is everyone being so insolent today?
Smithers: Well sir, it is christmas...
Mr. Burns: I'll decide when its christmas!
I would try to thin the point costs of the thanes, great weapons with RoStone and RoResistance will do as good if not better, and will save you 20 pts.
Aprt from that, you'll do fine, especially take the flame cannon for a ride.
How could I miss that! good thing you spoted it, never take thunderes without shields, they are very useful when flanking your oponent ofr a panic test and negating is ranks, usae them a bit aggressively.
I don't have Thunderer's with shields, so no models means no shields. As to the thane, I would like not to strike last all the time s6 or no. Also he'll do fine against most things and the runic axe may help if they ever have to face etheral or daemonic creatures.
Now I don't know how "legal" this is for a "GW Conflict" tournament, but I haven't any issues playing at local GW's or in local tournys. Regarding Thunderers with shields, I made about 20 shields wioth small loops of fishing line attached to the so i could sling them over the shoulders of thunderers or warriors if I wanted to give them shields. Would be similar to using magnets to allow for different config options on marines/tanks in 40K. To my knowledge, there is no rule that says a model on the table has to be modelled in a permanent fashion. I would rather use small leather or even green stuff straps for the shields for appearance, but in a pinch, this has worked for me.
As for the list, have you had any thoughts about evening out the ranks of your units? I.E., decreasing the 16 model unit of warriors to 15 and increasing the 19 model unit to 20?
Erik - The thane BSB is going with the 19 warriors, so he makes them an even 20 and the 16 warrs will be arranged in four ranks of four. So for both units I will have full ranks without any casulties taken (four ranks of four).
As to the shields, it always WYSIWYG. So the unit would have to have shields on them, but nice idea with the string.
yeah looks like a good solid list along with your tactic, i look forward to seeing you there!
as for the sheild problem you could always use normal sheilds and simply a small bit of blu tac to stick them onto their back
lets agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours are
