I'm a lizardmen player who has recently started collecting dwarfs, as i wanted to collect an army which was very different to my current one.
This is my first attempt at an army list after reading through the army book. I was just wondering if you guys could give me a heads up on how well you think it would work before i went out and started buying all the models
Dwarf Lord – great weapon, master rune of Kragg the Grim, master rune of swiftness, rune of stone, shieldbearers
Runesmith – shield, rune of spellbreaking
20 Warriors – shields, full command
20 Warriors – shields, full command
14 Longbeards – great weapons, shields, standard bearer, musician, rune of stoicism (joined by dwarf lord)
20 Ironbreakers – full command, rune of courage
Cannon – rune of forging
Cannon – rune of reloading
Bolt thrower – engineer
This comes to 1'994 pts
All suggestions/improvements welcome!
The only real problem I can see at the mo is that the generals weapon has 2 master runes on it. That is not allowed. I would suggest droppin the master rune of swiftness for 2 runes of iron, giving your general a decent ward save.
I hope this helps :ninja:
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

our ginger agent man is indeed correct. master runes are rare items in a simplistic sence and you may only attach one to a weapon/peice of armour/warmachine/talisman/banners at any time.
you may combine 1 master rune with two normal runes if you wish.
spambot kill tally: 79
[16:19] <@Alzer> Arky's right though
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^

I otherwise like this list though, it's quite strong.:ninja:
Drop a cannon or the engineer and add some more longbeards. With 14 in the unit, only 4 dwarfs need to be killed for the first LD test. Longbeards dont have the best armour save and imagin them being charged by a heavy cavalry unit...
Thanks for the heads up about the master runes guys, i guess that'll teach me for only speed reading the army book!:blush:
I was just wondering whether my 20 ironbreakers are worth the 320 points i'm paying for them. Obviously i have no experience with them whatsoever, but i've heard good things about them. Do people think that they're too much of a point sink, or will they always make me proud?
One of the reasons i started playing dwarfs was to fire cannons! So i would be reluctant to lose one. Being a lizardman player, the prospect of shooting big guns makes me drool!
You don't have to blush, I didn't realise that rule until about the third read!Originally Posted by stonehambey
I think that the ironbreakers are worth the points, 2+ AS in CC. But if your general is going to go in them isn't 20 a dodgy number (7*3 won't work).
It was sort of the same starting Dwarfs for me. Lizardmen only have Stegadon as really big units, and when I change Dwarfs I'll be sad.:yes:
Also I wouldn't pay the 50pts for Kragg the Grim just to get Swiftness and +2 strength, but its up to taste...
Just to go off the subject I live really near to Gravesend!

I was actually planning to use him in the longbeards unit, plus i could be mistaken but if he has shieldbearers doesn't he take up two model spaces when it comes to rank and file?I think that the ironbreakers are worth the points, 2+ AS in CC. But if your general is going to go in them isn't 20 a dodgy number (7*3 won't work).Well it turns out i couldn't anyway I thought the idea of a great weapon which always strikes first was too good to be true!Also I wouldn't pay the 50pts for Kragg the Grim just to get Swiftness and +2 strength, but its up to taste...
thanks again for all the help guys, i'm a bum student at the mo so it might be a while before i can scrape together the cash to make this army, so at the moment i will have to be content with commanding the forces of lustria!
Shieldbearers do take up two for each bearer, but I'd use him in the Ironbreakers - even thoguh 22 is quite an awkward number. So I'd probably take out 5 ironbreakers and take another bolt thrower.Originally Posted by stonehambey
I'm sort of short of money too for an army, my next ambition is to get the limited edition standard bearer in the army box set...
i would change the warriors to have GW... the usually go last anyways and the +2 S is very nice ^_^ dont drop the shilds tho... its good agains missle fire :ninja:
for me i dont realy care for runesmiths... i'd use a master engineer and put him on a cannon. (( i do it all the time after 2 cannons blew up on me on turn one... miss fires and snake eyes... *cry*))
