Ok I Edited my list to get some more ranged troops and took out the dragon slayer in favor of a runesmith. this will give me an additional dispel dice and he will help out one of the units of warriors in combat. the basic strategy of this army is to draw my enemy in closer with missle fire and magic resistance. then use my combat units to counter when they move up to attack.
Thane armed with great weapon/shield
rune of stone
runesmith armed with handweapon/shield
rune of fury, rune of stone, rune of striking
19 dwarf warriors w/full command (general joins them)
19 dwarf warriors w/full command (runesmith joins them)
10 dwarf quarrelers
10 dwarf quarrelers
grand total of 1000 pts.

what tactics were you thinking? it seems a fairly solid list (most dwarf lists are of course!) but personally id make a few adjustments:
Id go for another Bolt thrower and a cannon instead of the Organ gun- for no real reason other than the fact i like bolt throwers!
whats the purpose of the dragon slayer? there is a danger that out on his own he will be overexposed to enemy artillery fire before he can get to grips with the enemy- if you tinker with the list a bit it may be worth your while getting a slayer unit, as long as you can protect them from missile fire they are a killer unit- great at taking down tough monsters and unbreakable to boot- your Dragon slayer can also join them 9negating the loner special rule)
it all depends on your proposed tactics really (and what minis you have available too i guess!)
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
I was thinking of using him to guard the war machines and quarralers from people trying to get behind my troops. or he can get in a flank charge once my guys are engaged in combat. basically he is a utility dwarf to help the army hold together from the rear. as for my overall army tactics i was planning on trying to draw them in close with my long range fire then break whats left with the troops.
Ok I changed the original list around i like it a little better the way it is now. if you have any feedback I would appreciate it.:w00t:
Well I think that the runesmith should not have so many runes on him. I tend to find runesmiths work better hiding at the back of the force, with some runes of spellbreaking, rather than armed up for combat. Now you just have a fighting Dwarf with 1 dispel dice who's not going to help you that much anyway. And if he dies you won't have any other magic support, other than 44DD. You probably don't really need one anyway but it would just work better if you gave him some more magical protection. That's what they're for, not for fighting.
