This is a small 500pt force for quick games.
Rune of Stone
Comments are welcomed, as it is a small list there is not much to say though. This army is intended to play any army, with the thane in warriors unit occupying the main part of the enemy force and the thunderers shooting them down (I like shooting).
give the thane a great weapon, it will help him deal out more damage, and with the rune of stone and shield he allready has a decent save.
I'm not so sure about this, as if you have a great weapon you can't use the shield. So my armour save will drop to a 3+, whereas it is usually 1+ with the shield in CC. I want to make him survive all the shock units like heavy cavalry that the cunning opponent will use in a 500pt game.Originally Posted by Fraggleking
i think you have too many upgrades on the thnderers. I played a 500pt game vs dwarves with my dark elves. My reaper bolt thrower was killing 2-3 thunderers every turn. I would try to fit in a catapult

I think the only upgrade he gave them besides the command was the shields. I personally would drop the command for points since you dont want them to get into CC anyway. you want them to shoot...and i know you cant use a shield and GW at the same time I meant use the shield until your in CC after a charge...i dont know if you can switch in the middle of fighting a unit though.
About the thunderers... Yep, I only gave them shields as an upgrade. Every unit needs to be versatile in 500pt games so I needed to make them good in combat as well: if I lost the warriors unit somehow then the thunderers would be in CC, and I now have a 4+ AS in combat with them. This makes them tough, because 4+ is actually very good for most other races.Originally Posted by Fraggleking
About the command... As I said before, every unit has to be versatile and when there's only 2 units on your force and 6 movement it's easy for the thunderers to get charged. They need to withstand the charge and the Veteran with double pistols is especially good at stand and shoot and good at CC too.
And if I gave the lord a great weapon I'd go 1pt over 500pt, I would if I could play my friends but not when I'm playing in tournaments.
