    2000 Dwarfs Friendly

    NOTE: can this please be moved to the army list forum. I see others have had this problem, it is because when trying to post an army list there it wont let you enter a tag/keyword, but that is required.

    Here's my first try at a Dwarf army:

    Lord-General, Gromril Armor, Great Weapon, Shieldbearers, Rune of Resistance, Rune of stone: 206 pts. (With hammerers)

    Thane-BSB, Gromril Armor, Rune of Cleaving, Master Rune of Gromril: 135 pts. (With warriors)

    Runesmith- Gromril Armor, Great weapon, Shield, Rune of Spellbreaking x2: 126 pts. (With warriors)

    19 Warriors-Shields, Musician, Standard Bearer: 186 pts.

    19 Warriors-Shields, Musician, Standard Bearer: 186 pts.

    12 Thunderers-Musician: 173 pts.

    12 Thunderers-Musician: 173 pts.

    18 Hammerers-Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields, Rune of Battle: 277 pts.

    10 Miners-Prospector, Musician, Standard Bearer: 135 pts.

    12 Slayers-Giant Slayer, Musician: 153 pts.

    1 Cannon-Rune of Forging, Rune of Burning: 130 pts.

    1 Organ Gun:

    Total: 2000 pts.

    113 models, 5 dispel dice with 2 Runes of Spellbreaking.

    I think this is a pretty good list. A good balance of shooting and CC capacity, you can probably march on them if you are outgunned, and you can stand and shoot if they are better in CC than you. You probably have enough anti-magic for most games as well.

    The one thing you are weak on is taking out units at ranges farther than 24". You might consider swapping some thunderers for x-bows, to make sure they don't hang back at about 30" and win with many small units of archers or x-bows of their own.

    I would not give a 10-strong unit of miners a banner, if they are flanking a real fight they won't need one, and if they are attacking anything with ranked CR, they'll probably just lose and then drop the banner when they flee. My miners are usually completely destroyed back magic or CC by the end of the game, no sense making them worth more VP. I'd drop the prospector if you are pressed for points also.

    The only thing a musician can do for slayers is to let them win ties. Slayers are unbreakable, so they don't care if they lose. If they win a tie, most enemies will not break (test on unmodified leadership), so no advantage there. I'd drop it.

    If you can scrape some points up, I'd add a gyrocopter. It works great to get something in the field to destroy cavalry, war machines and mages, and march-block and chargebait your foes. It and the miners can work very well together.

    1 Cannon-Rune of Forging: 125 pts.

    1 Organ Gun: 120 pts.

    1 Gyrocopter: 140 pts.

    Total: 2000 pts.

    Lost a couple thunderers, switched some to quarellers, took out a few unit champions, and lost 1 str on the BSB.

    Gained a Gyrocopter.

    oops, little mistake there.

    also had to drop the rune of battle off the hammerers.

    Looks good to me. The only other change I would make is to drop 2 quarrelers and add shields to both groups. The extra armor can make a big difference in keeping your missle troops alive. If you intend them to be sacrificial, I wouldn't bother.

    drunk assasin, do you have to type like that? its going to give someone a seizure. Just type normally, youve gotten in trouble from mods already. I think your list is very good. It is versatile and balanced. Its a mix of offensive and defensive.
