i was just wondering are hammers worth taking.
i know they are good when lead by a lord.
but i just wonder about the hammers in genral and how to use them?
Depends on your army composition, your strategy, and those of your opponents. If you want a fear-proof unit (w/ Lord) that can be hit from all sides and still keep fighting, they are great. If you do not want this, then you should look at other units.
Hammerers are particularly nasty in conjuction with longbeards (for anti-panic assist) and a BSB (to reroll the occasional failed break test).
They are also reasonable as small speed-bump units, as stubborn with a 3+ armor save (with shields) is difficult to get rid of quickly.
