I have heard that you do not have to have a comand group in any unit, but I understand that it is smart to have, but what about crossbowmen? In many places I have seen them without comangroup, what shall I do.
If you wonder; I am going to have 12 crossbowmens and the others will be used in a warrior regimente (20 dwarfs) with comand group.
Right is it smart to have a command group? Yes, deininatly. These wonderful beings will help you units in combat with extra attacks (veteran) or with the CR (Standard Bearer) or if you need to tiebreak, or in the unlikely event helps to rally (musician). Now I will always include a full command group in every combat unit, for the above meantioned reasons. Yes they do bump up the cost slightly and aren't really much better than a normal trooper, but it's their other ablities I think make them worth it.
Now when it comes to missile units generally it's not a good idea to have a full command, basically you will be forking out for those pts while you do try to aim and amke sure they never get into combat. The only command model I would ever take in a missile unit would be a muscian, their +1 to rally may come in handy.Good ideaIf you wonder; I am going to have 12 crossbowmens and the others will be used in a warrior regimente (20 dwarfs) with comand group.
You see I am Norwegian and not the best in english either so when you say missile units, do you then talk about the crossbows too? If I am right I guess you mean I shall have full comand in the warrior regimente (it is what I always have thought, I have glued them already) and just a musican in the crossbowmenregimente and that sound great, but I have another question:
What do you (all of you) when you are giing your warriors handweapond and shield and the musican and standar bearer just have two hands? Do you glue the sheild on the dwarws back or do you just skip it and say he has it? I think I am going to glue it on his back like I am going to do whith the axe that the beer drinker in my has.
Yes I mean that give all your warriors full command and your missile units (x-bowmen and Thunderers) a musician, although in saying this I actually have all missile units of my own with full command (it looks better on display ).
I actually don't glue the shield on, it's assumed that all models in the unit have the same equipment. Although I might glue a shield onto their backs one time
