Well, I'm not having any luck finding the Dwarf King with shield bearers model in the back of the dwarves book.
Before I go ordering bitz willy-nilly, what are some of YOUR favorite figures to use in conversion for making the dreaded DWARF LORD WITH SHIELD BEARERS? (Must use loud booming voice when talking or typing about DLwS!):C
Do you mean this one?
King Alrik Ranulfsson (6th Edition special character)
He is the general lord of shieldbearers used as he comes with the full kit. =) I however would like to see alternatives to this. One I often do see the lord on foot leaning on his axe, used as a lord of top. Personally I don't like it because he just doesn't suit to be stood on the shield.
I've ordered the shield bearers and shield. But which Lord figure to put on top.
I agree... the shield bearers look good, but Lord Alrik is not the fig for the general that I'd like to see on top.

I like the model were the Lord is leaning on his axe also. GW has a couple of direct order only models were the character are also leaning on thier axes. Here is one of them.
I have purchased a Reaper model that I plan on using as a Lord on shieldbearers. It is a Lord one a bear.
Let me know what you think about this.
I used the shield & Lord from the special edition (Lord, Bugman, Snorri), then mounted it on the 4 throne bearers from the old version of the throne of power. Makes the Lord look extra big and powerful!
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Well, since I just found out what this old dusty model I bought bonths ago actually is;
Warhammer - Dwarfs
Bet he would look ok on a shield, I'm trying to figure out how to give him a shield instead of his horn too.
