I'm likely to face a casket in a Tomb Kings army soon.
Not having the TK army book, I'm short on understanding the rules for shooting at it.
IIRC: normal missile don't damage the casket, and everything has to be randomized to see which hits go against the casket and are wasted.
My question is about template weapons? Would a grudge thrower hit directly over the Lich Priest model have any chance of getting through to him, or is the hit still randomized?
Any other advice on how to take it on?
I played against a casket yesterday with empire, and heres what i found about it.
its attack is exactly like a banshee, but affects everything it sees so expect it on a hill beside the screaming skull catapult. as a dwarf, its attack isnt that nasty
oh and the casket gives a -1 to cast spells.....but we dont have magic anyway...
try charging it with a gyrocopter. it might hold it up for a turn or two as the lich is useless in cc and there are only two guards. I took it out with a captain on a pegasus in turn 3
shooting works that 1-4 hits the casket 5-6 the crew, then roll a d6 again and 1-4 hits the guards and 5-6 the mage
as for template weapons, i know the flamer works fine, but i assume that if the hole of the grudgethrower is right on top of the mage, hes hit and thats that.
oh, miners will work well too,
