Hi i have the 10 thunders and 12 wars from the skull pass set. I was wondering what you all would recommend for a good all-comer core build, I was thinking 3 or 4 good solid core choices would be a must have for the stunties but i'm not sure. I was thinking maybe 20 thunderers, 2x 35 Warriors (1 with HW/s 1 with great weapons) and maybe a longbeard unit. Comments and advice are welcome, even on my 5 minute dwarf Thane Intuition.
20 thunderers or quarrelers are fine, simply split them into two blocks of ten for max efficiency. For your warrior units, 20-25 is fine, any bigger and they become too unwieldy to use and dont give good combat res (dwarfs cant redeploy too good). I highly suggest longbeards, as at Ws5 S4 and their old grumbler rule they are one of the best core choices out there.
As for giving warriors GW, personally i dont like that, they become too fragile. hammerers take that spot instead.
Oi! Get off me beard!
Warriors are amongst the most points-efficient Core units in the game. They are dirt cheap if you can work out how to get over their pathetic movement value.
In a balanced 2K list, I'd take 1 unit of X-Bowen, 1 unit of Handgunners, 2 units of warriors, and a unit of Longbeards as my Core choices. But that's just me.
thx guys, and to teh first post, i didn't know what you were talking about till i double checked my Orginal post /facepalm, i ment 25 not 35 warrriors >_<, thx for the GW advice
