When you take a Runesmith, how do you equip him? (Runes & Options)
After that, how do you usually use him? Stick him in a unit? Going solo?
3 Runes of spellbreaking, shield and great weapon. Goes in warrior units. Very effective magical defenses, and versatile gear for options.
A spelleater rune is also acceptable against certain armies.
single rune of spellbreaking, gw and rune of stone. in 2000 pts hes enough to keep your head out of water and is relatively low cost
Oi! Get off me beard!
My Runesmith has shield, Rune of Stone and Master Rune of Balance in a unit of Warriors.
In case I face magic heavy army BSB with Valaya rune is added on the table along with another Runesmith similar equiped.
I take a Hand Weapon and Shield, RoSpellbreaking and MRoBalance. He goes in a unit of 24 Warriors.
I plan on taking an Anvil when (read: if) I hit 3k, so he'll be carrying round three Spellbreakers instead.
I take a shield and master rune of balance. Very handy in 1000 pts against Vampire counts.
'you got 2 vampires? Okay, I've got * smack * 6 dispelldice and you -1 powerdice '
too bad my opponent VC player found a solution to that Black repiant, he can save one of his unused dispeldice as a powerdice the next turn. And dwarfs don't have any magic with powerdice, so.... xD
Very handy to bolster a warriorunit too while you put your big badass thane or lord in a unit longbeards/hammerers/ironbreakers/quarrelers(wtf?) Recently he helped me destroy a unit ghouls with vampire general with my 20 strong warrior unit ( the dice gods favored me! )
If you have some points left in your list he can be made a tough CC fighter too. Rune of snorri, fury or cleaving and.. well... cleave!
Thanks everybody for the replies. This has been helpful.
