What is a Thorek Gunline?

Ok, so we have established a hero (Thane w. RoFury, Cleaving, Snorri). Should I keep this in 2000p. (transferring it to a Lord)? What should my secondary hero be? BSB?

What about CC blocks? Should I go for the cheeper Warriors and Longbeards, or should I use Ironbreakers (Is hammerers wirth on 2000p.+ as a retinue for your lord)?

Shooting: How many Thunderers are enough?

And finally: War Mashines. Is 2 Cannons + 1 Organ Gun enough or should I get more?

Uhm, yes that rune combo also works well on a lord. Give the lord shieldbearers, an abolsute must. Than he will be immune to killing blow ( he has a unit strenght of 3, so can't be killing blow'ed. ) has a 1+ armoursave and 2 ws5 str4 attacks from his bearers. But you can choose some more runes for the lord, yo have to load lords up with runes or they die too quikly for their points. Now you can give him a master rune of swiftness.

in 2000 pts you can take 2 blocks of 20 warriors for about 200 pts each, a block of 15 or 20 longbeards and then a blocks of Ironbreaker or hammerers. Ironbreakers are good because they have a great 2+ save in Closecombat, hammerers on the other hand have strenght 6 attacks, but because they only wear heavy armour you will lose a lot to shooting, thats why I don't use them myself.

You can always take a unit of 10 slayers for about 120 pts. Unbreakableeeeeeee!

Warmachines you can take diverse stuff, something like an organ gun, cannon and stonethrower or perhaps a gyrocopter.

4 CC blocks? Isn't that a bit much points taken from the Shooting part of the army? The shooting part is at least 655p., and with a Lord and your heroes you'll be down to 600-800 points of other things (This is counting a BSB, 20 Thunderers, 2 Cannons, 1 Organ Guns and a Lord/Thorek).

"Thorek Gunline" is just obscene. Even outcheeses a 2-dragon High Elf 2000 point army!

Yes, but kinda boring, And when the enemy reaches you with enough, your few CC units are going down and your gunline itself is screeheeewed.

Especially cavalryheavy armies will be a problem for gunlines. Boltthrowers and cannons can only take off 1 ( or 2 in bigger units ) enemy per turn, template warmachines have a lot less to hit, organ gun still rocks and missile units wint make a big dent on those 1+ save knights.

Better go normal, thats more fun, less cheesy.

Drop the cannons for S7 bolt throwers. They are more reliable, and will actually do more damage overall.
