    Thunderers + Quarrellers

I was just wondering guys, how do you kit your ranged units out..

Obviously a full command is wasted i think..

But i am assembling my thunderes and quarrerlers at the moment and i was curious, which set up is the best?

Is just plain guys good, or should i go with shields...or shields + a musician?

    Any advice

I personally just use standard guys with a musician but shields would also be useful for increasing their survivability so I would say that if you have the points for it go for shields and a musician, the musician especially as it allows them to rally easier so you can flee as a charge reaction and have them rally to resume shooting later.

Personally, I always give my missile units shields and musicians. This way they get a nice healthy 4+ save in combat, and LD10 when rallying.

10 with musician and shields. Usually field 2 x 10 quarrellers and 10 thunderers as I find it a great compromise between range and power. As well as being known for a healthy dose of good luck when firing my crossbows *knocks on wood*.

The advice above is good - musicians and shields are all you need, standards just give away VP to your opponent.

You'd be surprised how well Quarrellers can survive with shields & HW, thats a 3+ AS in hth combat

4+ save. LA, shield(+ hw in combat) but even so they tend to stick around alot longer than other races missile troops.
