Hey Guys,I got BFSP for Xmas and I really like the dwarfs. problem is, I don't have their armybook and I can't think of a paint scheme for them. I really don't want to go with the regular blue that everyone seems to be using. My original colour scheme was going to be red and black based on a picture of cossacks I saw, but now that I think of it, they would look like Chaos dwarfs! What is a good colour scheme, because I want to be somewhat original rather than the overwhelming blue that everyone is doing. Although I do think the blue looks really good, I don't want to be doing what everyone else is doing. Should I just succumb to the blue?
Don't worry about the colors.
the old chaos dwarfs run around with somewhat assyrian_looking beards and hats/helmets which look ... peculiar (i.e. silly)
Your dwarfs will in no way look like them.
So your color scheme should be fine
It ain't easy bein' green... :-)
yeah, I guess, but I also look at the pictures of the dwarfs on all the Games Workshop site and I want my dwarfs to look like them, so I am really split
There are lots of good colours for dwarfs
Some time ago I saw a dwarf army done by someonewho could paint quite good; It was white ( the arms and such ) and dark angels/snot green ( the other bits ) . He had painted them very nicely and it looked great. I myself have done blue ( * shame * ) with kommando khaki. Perhaps you could ask for some paintingschemes here or in your local store. Remember; kommando khaki fits with just about everything ^^
Personally my Dwarfs are red, and I think they look particularly spiffing.
Really any colours go well with Dwarfs. I think they do suit primary colours though- in particular blue, red or green.
Quartered is nice. King Ulrik Flamebeards dwarfs are blue and off white quartered iirc. There may be pics somewhere on LO- well worth finding they are very nice.

Colour wise, dwarfs can be any colour. But greens, browns, reds, blues, cream, black, white these suit really well. Choose one main colour and one to compliment it. You don't have to do the same style each time (half and half, for example), just as long as you use the same colours the army will look unified.
thanks But you should see some of my newer units Or models that are based, for that matter xD Like King Ulrik Flamebeard said, most colours will fit, choose 2 that fit together and then choose one as the primary and the other as the secondary. Fir instance I have these thunderers where I switched both colours around, but the army still looks unified.
