i have no clue what runes i should b usein with my Master Engineer....like do i put armor or weps or both or just one or the other (i know i missed a few) so if someone chould toss me a few ideas that would b great....and with me Thanes would a othea stone b a good idea if i had some shooting to go along with the whole not movein thing?? like iv never used one be for im jw if the stone would b a good idea or not
Hi I moved this to the dwarfs forum I think it would get a better response here
master engineers generally speaking get by without runes. at the very most a rune of stone tends to suffice.
this is because master engineers aren't ever on the front line and as such don't really need armour or the like to preform at their best, i.e. boosting the warmachines.
best to use the points elsewhere at leave the master engineer to what he does best

myself? i give my ME a master rune of gromril and the rune of resistance, my war machines tend to get attacked quickly, this turns him into a brick and if he joins the unit and gains the subborn from the "gun crew pride" then he won't break and willy slowly break down the oponent (i killed an entire beast herd with this, kept loosing by 1 (outnumber and banner and killed 1 guy) and kept passing my 9+ leadership.
and in responce to the oath stone, i've never used one myself most people will just avoid a unit with an oathstone.

thanks very much any info i can get will help me out a lot lol
I use an oathstone in every game. If your opponent wants to avoid that unit, use it to lure them into something else. Its great for setting up flanks. I usually stagger my line like a stair case. The ironbreakers with the oathstone go at the forward most point of the line. This puts them out closest to the opponent and protects the only part of your line that doesn't have its flank protected. It works very well.
Well, with your master engineer all i ever give my master engineers are a brace of pistols - and only then if i have some points spare. The 3 attacks and 2x stand and shoot is pretty good for only 10 points i suppose.
As for the oath stone i am no help, never used one in my life because they have never sounded good on paper (don't know if its actually true that its rubbish). But if you do take and oath stone and plant it and no one comes try using the master rune of challenge to get them in combat.
thanks again for all the info
