I'm going be to playing some 1000 pt games soon against Wood Elves and Tomb Kings. Are miners worth it, or should i just take either hammerers/ ironbreakers/ longbeards.
Yes, vs. those armies movement is key and something that can increase your flexibilty movementwise is certainly a good pick.

a unit of 6-8 will do great, thoug i would recommend you take much shooting as well.
Miners a brilliant if they have warmachines. Absolutely Excellent with a shooting force - they have to come forward 9Nothing can stand up to a good Dwarf gun Line) leaving their WarMachines exposed, miners come along and take out their crews, Job done + your enemy is worried that you now have a unit behind them, oh and their warmachines are dead which is a blow to most players.
Alright thanks. I was also thinking about using a gyrocopter in conjunction with them. Do you think that it is to much for a 1000pt game? Is the organ gun a better choice?
Depends, are you going to sit on a hill and shoot at them? If you re then an organ gun is brilliant for when they get closer. If you're going to move forward then a gyrocopter is good - but if it has no support it gets killed quickly.
Against Wood Elves miners arent that great, the glade guard can simply turn around and shoot you to pieces if you come on behind them. Against TK I think they would be much more useful, however you need to watch out for that free reform banner, when combined with their movement magic they can charge you even if your behind them.
Ok my friend's 1000pt army is going to have like two squads of dryads, 3 treekin, branchwraith, spellsinger, waywatchers, and maybe gladeguards (forget if they fit). I can only really afford 1000 points without much room for change, and being able to combat against both the woods elves and tomb kings (chariots, archers, catapult, and tomb scorpion pretty much) would be great. Do you guys have any army style recommendations?
Sorry if this is the wrong topic to ask in!
