Rune Lord w/Anvil
Which would you prefer in your tournament army?

Runelord with Anvil - $$$ but helps with movement and other things which we lack

positioning your troop in the flank and charge at the same turn.
an option to clear and slow skirmishers and flyers, other than organ gun.
to be able blow to give you 400 point disadvantage at the first turn, to increase your swear capacity.
I voted runelord with anvil... dwarves have great leadership, great armor, good weapon skill, high toughness, excellent war machines .... one of the the only disadvantages we really have (other than somewhat pricey units) is our lack of mobility. The anvil completely counters that.... well except when it blows up.... but anvil sending in miners to the rear or flank of a unit is all kinds of awesome....
Mathematically, here's how it goes:
1. Thorek Ironbrow
2. Runelord with anvil
3. Shieldbearer lord
4. Normal lord
5. Runelord (this guy is a waste of time, just take 2 smiths)

I use a Runelord on Anvil for some heavy magic defense/the 6" extra on a key unit.
I went Dwarf Lord on shieldbearers for a while, then my friend convinced me to try a proxy anvil.
I buying an Anvil this Xmas.
Strollaz / Anvil can get you up to 18 inches across the board on your first turn. Also, it's a bit more scary to be charged by dwarfs for a change. Miners and an Anvil can charge from a board edge, and the shooting attack can slow down cavalry or flyers. Also, 3 extra dispel dice (for 7 total) is going to nerf your opponents magic phase.
Guns are fun but Axes are more satisfying.
Why would anyone want to move up 18 inches? ANYTHING could charge you then...
In that game I won the roll and let my opponent play first. He marched forward 8.
I had the same situation, only i took the geuss on ancient power and let my front line move up to 18'(ogres got the first turn) i completely slaughtered him in the 3rd turn.
But i prefer my darf lord on his shieldbearers just because i like my big bad dwarf that can cut off some heads. For the magic def i just use rune of balance and rune of spellbreaking with my runesmith, and put a rune of sanctuary on my hammerers and ironbreakers( you'll get pretty hurt when your opponent uses lore of metal )
