So, I am in the process of writing my fluff for my dwarfs. You can find the bulk of it here: The Delving Spear Hold, please feel free to comment on it; although it is rather long (just over 3000 words I believe) as I'd love some feedback.
Now, I am on to the naming of certain heroes or characters of the city. I am trying to give them some titles and flesh them out. I cannot at the moment, as I have none of my books with me, remember if there are any actual existing titles. I've got an idea of the characters and what I want them to be, but "Master Ironbreaker" just doesn't seem right. So, I was wondering if any of you fine fellows had ideas of titles for them; either made up, from your own fluff or official titles you can remember.
These are the character 'positions' I'd like to see if I can get some decent sounding titles for. Or even other positions in a dwarf hold.
Master of the Ironbreakers
Battle Standard Bearer
Master of the Hammerers
Master Engineer/of Engineer's Guild
Master of the Ironbreakers is called Ironbeard, Head Miner is called Prospector and Master of the Hammerers is Gate Keeper, that's from the army book
Battle Standard Bearer could be something like King's Champion?
Necrons W0/D0/L0 Dwarfs W10/D2/L6 (8th edition)
He wanted honorable title, but yours worked to. No insults intended ^^
Okey here is my try ^^:
Master of the Ironbreakers = Azulgor (Ironbeast)*
Head Miner/Prospector = Garazboki (Fearless-miner)
Battle Standard Bearer = Kolgromthi (Black-ancestor)
Master of the Hammerers = Kazakgrund (Warhammer)
Master Engineer/of Engineer's Guild = Barag-grungron (War machineforger)**
I did what i ussualy do whit my own dwarfs, i go into my old Dwarf army book (the one before the current one) and look up the Khazalid words and find those words that have something to do whit what that dwarf is supposedly doing.
Hope you enjoy them.
*: Azul means matal of anykind, so i used it for iron.
**: Grungron means a forge but i used it as forger.
I can do better than that book, I have the old WHFRP book - Steel and Stone. It has way, way more terms that the old army books. You should look it up.
I'll have a think still, but thanks for the suggestions so far guys.
Hm, steelbreaker sounds OK but just sounds very much like ironbreaker.
And you better all have read, or be reading, my fluff!
Master of the Ironbreakers - Dept Watcher
Head Miner/Prospector - High Mountain
Battle Standard Bearer - Runebearer
Master of the Hammerers - Great Hammer
Master Engineer/of Engineer's Guild - High Thinkerer
