Right, well, it's all in the title really. I am only really getting the dwarfs to paint and model but I don't really want to be getting continually battered and I really don't like metal models. So I am basically thinking, can I get a dwarf army that is reasonably competitive and also all plastic?
Thanks in advance for the replies.
It is possible to do an all plastic army, but only as long as you are good at kitbashing. From straight plastic kits you can make:
The units you can't at the moment without converting are:
With some skills and converting you can pull off almost any unit/model. The only problem you might have is making the characters stand out and apart from the normal characters.
like ulrik said, dwarfs only have metal characters. As for the bolt thrower, high elves have plastic bolt thrower. For hammerers you should just get alot of hammers so you can equip the entire unit with. The rest will be a bit harder to get by in plastic.
Amazingly, King Ulrik forgot Slayers. <-- too much cider?
For the hammers, the warrior kit comes with a few, and really, making a simple conversion for a hammer is easy....you could even use a straight pice off the plastic sprue, slap one of those dwarf dangly bits on it, shape the ends a touch with a good blade...

If you have some patient, you can get some plastic slayers from avatars of war
I am going the other way and building a full Metal army. Almost 170 figures purchased so far but bidding for some more on e-bay at the moment
