For a long time i have wanted to do the slayer army list from the old Storm of Chaos list. Avatars of War are doing the new plastic slayers that would work perfectly without costing the earth - and cost was the only reason that i had held off from doing the army before now.
I know that the Storm of Chaos army lists are no longer legal or allowed in tournaments (bit of a moot point since i wouldnt be using GW models anyway) but i was wondering whether you feel that people would object to playing againt this list as it is no longer 'technically' legal?
90% of the people wont mind, and in fact would welcome the chance to play against a rare type of list like the slayer list, compared to the normal drudgery that they probably come up against time and time again. If they are in it for fun then you have no problem, but you always find that 10% who are in it to win it and will probably take a negative view to your army either because they dont know how to play against (and beat) a slayer list, and instead of just giving it a go will not want to play at all.
But you shouldnt have much problem, it realy depends on where and who you play as some clubs have thier own house rules, but friends shouldnt have a problem.
Do u guys by any chance know where i ca find this armylist because it sounds fun
You should get Storm of Chaos booklet to get the army list.
It generally has 2 RoF units,
Troll Slayers and Brotherhood of Grimnir (somewhat upgraded Troll Slayers)
Besides Doomseekers; our own fanatic.
Also you will have access to Goblinhewer; awesome machine which uses enemy's ranks to determine its hits!
2 Special characters and 1 regiment of renown (Long drong slayer pirates, (ninja-pirates anyone?)
Ofcourse standart Dragon Slayers and Daemon Slayers and upgrade to Giant slayers are availible.
Some neet tricks;
Vampire Slayer= Against T5 each wound d6 wounds
Skaven Slayer= multiply your attacks with the number of enemies in base contact with you.
In addition Look Snori, Trolls!
I've always been tempted to do a slayer army myself, but I was in the same boat as in with cost.
Now there are cheap alternatives to slayers, that might be a viable idea.
I already have a goblin hewer and a unit of 30 Long Drong slayer pirates, so I am well on my way.
What do you plan to use for Doom Seekers? I've been trying to find the original models for years, with no luck.
May the Dragon of Unhappiness never fly up your bottom.
if possible can we change the title of the topic to "Storm" of chaos instead of "Storn of chaos"
