This weekend I played in a 1500 pts tourney in preparation to the hall of heroes and I won against some really good gamers and vets, and by alot too.
Is it over powered, I mean can't kill the doomseekers by shooting if they stay near other units, magic nevers casts unless irresistable and you get 6-9 S6 attack in combat per caracter, and on top of that, you don't roll for the Ld, EVER.
Any toughts on that?
How come magic never casts unless irresistable? It doesn't say anything like that in the SOC book. If this were true, it would really be too good.
A lot of range is your problem. They may not get your doomseekers but hurting your main units to small numbers can hurt you. But slayers are always good since they are unbreakable. With the slayer ability they can take on big monsters. The only thing I ca nthink that is a major hurt for you is range unless you get that 5+ ward against range, magical banner. The enemy has to get units that strike first with a lot of attacks to hurt your men.
Hi, ho, hi, ho, its off to slaugther we go... -A Dwarf Battle Song
Let us die even as we rush into the midst of battle -Virgil
Amgic never cast because of the sheer amount of dispell dice you can get ^_^
at 2000 you get 6 plus all the wards of grimnir on the seekers and brotherhood, I get 11 in my curent list.
T4 helps alot Vs range too.
I wouldnt say overpowered. Because the best result you can hope to achieve is a draw... ...the enemy will most likely see the benefit in hiding in a corner, and with your movement, you might be able to charge him in turn 5 or 6.
Green is good
the goblin hewer serves very well for that type of situation, and an opponent might at least try to win because cowarring in a corner isn't a winning tactic.Originally posted by Calinarion@Jan 23 2005, 12:16
