I just started Dwarfs , and i'm hoping my army list works.
All my friends are Elves(Dark & High), Undead (vampire Counts),and Hordes
of Chaos. I'm hoping this army is effective.
You can't give runes to a gyrocopter.
at 2000 bloacks of 16 don't make the cut, 20 or 25 would do much better for resolution and ranks.
The best way to use weapons on dwarf caracters is to give them great weapons, and build solid armours, like rune of resistance and the such. Maybe a lord and a cheap thane with the rune smith would do best.
the rune smith is perfect, just give him a great weapon.
do you really need the 2 runes on the cannon.
Some slayers could help you against your fear causing friends, and some of the magical banners too.
I would have either ironbreakers or hammers not both. probaly iron breakers are better.

how come you cannot put runes on a gyrocopter, u could use the engineering runes

hmmm...looks nice for a dwarf army. i know none of the finerys ofthe drwaven tactics of war, but i do know one thing. those undead and chaos Lords are gonna own anything you throw at them in CC, because i don't reckon your hero is resiliant enough to the pain. something to consider, as i can't imagine a dwarf army without a dwarf lord at that points level...

The army itself looks ok, but a few things;
The Gyro. As pointed out since 6th ed was released runes cannot be placed on any rare war machine (Organ Gun, Flame Cannon or Gyro).
IMO having both Hammerers and IBs in a 2k army is too much, choose one. IBs will be very effective vs low S troops but Hammerers will do very well as getting the wounds. But one thing, the Hammerers are more likely to break when facing a fear causing unit as adding RoCourage removes Stubborn. So choose wisely.
The mainstay units seem a tad small, 16 and 20 to take on whatever they can throw at you? I'd make sure all are 20 at least, 25 is possible. The missile units are ok but drop the command, the Standard is an easy 100vps. The musician is an possiblity, but only really useful for baits.
The RoPenetrating on a Cannon is pointless as the max S is 10, which a cannon has as standard. And on the BT drop the RoFire and get MRoSkewering, you never know when it's needed.
The heros are fine, not all armies have to include a lord. The ToP is a very good combo and put in a GW armed unit will mean a few will hit back.
In all not bad, but try to get more warriors and extra unit if possible.

For Elites I'm taking out the Hammers and using a 25 block of IBs.
25x IBs FC, Ro Courage 405 pts
Rare is still a Gyro, (no Runes)
The core is still the same.
Now i have a total of 1714 pts
Should i get Miners? Slayers? more Warriors? or Artillery? :hmm: :wacko:
I'm having lots of trouble deciding PLZ Help........
Miners do great in popping warmachines, and slayers can hold up anything. For war machines at this point, I would get a pair of bolt throwers or a goblin hewer.
I'd be inclined to take some Miners, 10 in the unit. This will give a bit of disruption and gives you an edge, knowing they'll appear on any board edge. This should leave you with about 166pts left, a few things could be done with this;
* Boost units - Add more to your warrior units to bring both upto 20+
* War Machines - You could get a cannon with RoForging & RoRelaoding or a BT with RoPenetrating or a ST with RoAccuracy and RoPenetrating.
* BSB - Get a thane with the BSB, give him a few runes (MRoGromril; RoStone & RoResistance; or a cheap rune banner if you want to chance it)
I'd stay clear of the Gobbo Hewer, yes it's a great model and its rules are ok but it lacks with S. Against many units it will either fail to wound or they'll save easily, its best vs Orcs, Gobbos, Skellies/Zombies or Skaven.
the hewer is S4 piercing, and is also good vs any infantry in the game, even chaos have a hard time dealing with it. And it actually hits with it's BS 5.
