I find the flame cannon is safer than the organ gun.
I love to get as much atillery as i can into my list, which include an organ gun , 2 cannons , 2 bolt throwers and as many thunderes i can afford, oh maybe with an anvil somewhere in there.

So, here's the question? How many enemies actually make it to your lines? With numerous war machines, dozens of handguns and some magic targeted at them they shouldn't survive that long...
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
I've always had a dislike for the shooting line dwarfs, it's just a bad and no fun list. The game is basically the dwarf player guessing, rolling dice then his opponent removing figures. Yay fun... :hmm:
I usually include maybe two war machines and a single unit of misisles, the rest is made up via warriors, IBs, LBs, characters. This still gives you a strong shooting phase but also means you'll hit hard in combat, IMO shooting is a weakening pahse. I will fire at units to either panic them or reduce their numbers, this makes dealing with them in combat easier.
