Ok I was just wondering which is better the Tomb Kings casket of Souls or the dwarf Anvil of Doom???
The Tomb Kings casket of Souls. The anvil is a waste of piont to me
why do you say that???
The AoD is a waste if it's appearance is known, or you're fighting a generic opponent (ie tourny level etc). But other times it works wonders, very few will take magic users vs dwarfs so they'll have very little magic protection. Tis quite a surprise to suddenly find yourself on the end of D6 S5 hits on any unit on the board or halving that fast moving unit's movement etc
But in the main I'd say CoS, the fact that all units that can see it suffer makes it quite a choice.
You aren't kidding about the Anvil KU, my mate plays Dwarves and in the last league I ran he pulled it out as a left field play. Totally threw me as I had virtually no magic defence, I had to send units of wolf boyz after it and he blew them up with its nasty zappy spells.
Still ended up slaughtering the stunties though :p

I like the anvil of doom, it rawks. For one its got some sweet spells that can snipe off hiding wizards and those Str 5 hits are so cool. I like how it can generate so many dice. I find it strange how I can deck out a normal Runelord with anvil to be more expensive than Thorek. I think I'd take thorek any day for that Rune of Fear. I'd like to have another large battle so i can use the anvil again, last time it did pretty good but I was battling A couple elf mages so it wasn't exactly easy goings.
Either way you do the math, it all adds up to you goin' down
both are just a huge waste IMO, the casket can work Vs very low Ld only, and if it's on the board, I'm keeping 2 dice to stop it from activating with my a orcs, but will laugh when with my dwarf slayers.Originally Posted by Crimson angel
But Thorek's anvil can be quite useful, all dwarfs cause fear and grumble!
The casket of souls affects units immune to psychology normally, so would affect slayers as well as it would the rest of your dwarven army! And the old 'wait for the casket and dispel it' tactic actually plays to a tk player's advantage most of the time, as you fail to dispel other incantations that allow additional rounds of combat, extra SSC shots and magic missile spells to go through and wither units even worse than caskets ever could!Originally Posted by Wolf_Pack

Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.
