Hi I have a game sonday Slayers versus Wood elvis and I want to know if the Master rune of grimnir will be a good standard to put in my army. If I give it to a Dragon Slayer. With Beastslayer
The master rune of grimnir might come in handy, but just remeber to not leave him in the open against WE archers. How to you plan to use it, and what units are you taking (only a brief overview, or if you already have a list, the link), so I can also help with strategies (as I play both WE and slayers)
The dragon slayer with the banner will be in a unit of 19 slayer with full command.
then I have 5 doomseekers will be in front of my 3 unit of slayers to screen them of the -1 for the swinging blades and -1 for single model then I have the goblin hewer and 18 pirats for shooting and 2 more dragonslayers with skaven or beastslayer.
Than is that.
You'll want to watch out for any glade riders / eagles which will cause great damage to the goblin hewer and the pirates, or to any flank/rear charges the opponent might make. These should be your first priority for shooting, after this, aim for the WE counter attack units (wardancers, dryads) with your shooting. While this is happening, keep your blocks advancing, and don't fall for any traps that might be set for you. The WE player will try to outmanouver you, so force the issue by going for his archer base. Hope everything goes well, and have you played him before or know what units you are likely to face, to help refine your tactics a bit more. Cheers,
He plays 2 magis and a lord 4-5 bow unit, treeman, 6 wardancers, 12 dryads and the one scouts unit that shoot so well(dont know what they are called  ) plus 2 more scout units.
You should do pretty well then. If he is using scout archers, comletely ignore them with your slayer block, as they will most likely be deployed in a forest and will simply fall back leaving your unit helpless for a couple of turns. The dryads aspects won't be to much of a problem, nor will the wardaners if you hit them head on.
Basic battle plan: Try and deploy your pirates facing his wardancers/dryads so they can get in close and blast them away. If they happen to get charged, they should be able to win the fight. Send your main cc blocks straight at his archer line, to get rid of his mage support. With the goblin hewer, take on any unit in the open that threatens your units flanks or rear. Cheers, and good luck with the battle,
Thanks for the help I will let you kwon how it went.
