    Rangers

I understand that they are not worth the points just the way they are, but if they happen to have a bs increase to 4, would they still be worth the points or still be too expensive?

they are very useful with thier curent BS, as it is the only dwarf unit that can start way ahead to march block and be a pain to deal with, and great weapons are always dangerous.

to be honest i find rangers are not only fluffy but incredibly expencive to play

sure they can slow the opponent down and act as a march blocker but they cost wwaaaayyyy too much for a job miners can do just aswell (if not better) sure they can scout ahead but if you want to arm them with Xbows they become to cost 17ppm!

but its all down to opinion but i feel they are justa waste of points (not to mention unfluffy)

Miners don't do what the rangers do that's for sure, as they come on board on turn 2+, and rangers on board in a tidy spot as pepper the opponent until either hw send a unit to deal with it, or you get in charge range. Also miners end up chasing shadows in some games, as your opponent marched forward eraly on, and they came on board turn 3-4, doing nothing.

true but then rangers wont be able to do anything till turn two as the scout rule dictates that the rangers have the be out of sight of your foe so you will have to move (taking up shooting time) and then wait in the full veiw of your target for a turn. so its still two turns.

and miners can arive at any point of the table edge it doesent have to be behind your foe you could bring them directly behind the flank of his main line.

allthough you have to wait 2-3 turns for them to arive (from the start) miners are much better as march blockers/decoys. being able to turn up any where on the table edge you can bring any block unit to normal pace.

but both units have their uses allthough rangers could be better imo

well if you want them to have Xbows and sheilds they come up to a whopping 19 ppm they might work but i feel they are way too dependant on terrain. but its your choice
