i posted a skaven army and now im posting my dwarf army( im a noob at this). i want some feed back.
1 runelord w/ anvil of doom
14x2 warriors w/ shields and heavy armor, FC
14 thunderers w/ shields
10 longbeards FC
2 cannons w/ runes of forging and reloading
10 miners w/ musician
1 organ gun
1 flame cannon
this is a 2000 point army
is that your army list or just what you have ? if its your army list it needs to be in the army list section if you didnt know but for 1 you NEED to get more warriors there is to litle there and more heros and maybe make that long baerd unit to 20
srry about posting in the wrong place(im new and didnt know) but the reason i have so many thunderers is because i plan on devastating my enemies forces before they get to me.
Hmm well, you might not devastate all the enemy. If they are have Flyers, scouts or etc, then they can get up close kill your Crew and you'll be left with a small group of Dwarves.
You should definintely Get more Warriors(16-20 in a unit at best), boost the Longbeards(19-20) and add a Thane( this will make sure you stick around in CC).You have too many Thunderers, 10~12 work best IMO.
a runelord in a 2000pts army could be considered mad or brave. depends how it works out. i was tempted by it when i first started with the dwarves but it costs far too many points. you could make an unstoppable dwarf lord (more or less) for about 250pts. and have plenty left over to get a large well equipped unit.
units of 15 for the warriors are a decent size but i prefer 20.
my favourite specials are the ironbreakers and i take 19 with the dwarflord titan that can't be killed.
you have plenty of war machines which is always good to see but like people have said, drop the thunderers down to a 10 strong unit.
i think if you look at the dwarf tactica that has been posted you will get good help with planning out your army.
thanks. i did just that and actually i did it subconciously, because i read your post then later that night i was tweaking my army and i did exactly what you said without thinking you said it.
here are the changes i have made:
1 lord with gromril armor shield and MR of kingship
2 units of 20 warriors w/ shields and heavy armor, FC
2 units of 10 thunderers
19 ironbreakers (units my lord will be with)
2 cannons w/ rune of forging and reloading
1 organ gun
i put in the gyrocopter becasue i have heard it does well against elves, whicch is going to be my main opponent, if you think i should put the flame cannon back in please tell me.
