i am thinking about collecting dwarfs but am concerned about there lack of fast moving units and there box formation ive read that they can hold there own in combat but am wondering if they are able to cut into enemy lines and come out the victors, also something that has been nagging on my mind and yes i know dwarfs are ment to be small but i dont rly think they have anything in there army which will make u think twice about attacking them.
i am thinking about getting dwarfs or skaven but if anyone else has a good idea about other armys plz post and if anyone can give me pointers or answer my questions that would be great
Two very tough armies to use, and both are very different. A Dwarf Lord can be one of the toughest units in Close Combat. But they are at a huge disadvantage with thier speed and lack of a really tough H2H knock out punch.
If you like War Machines and can guess range well, then dwarfies can be good. They are a challange, and you need to be very crafty to do well with them.
hmmm could u surgest some tactics and are there any dwarven units that look intimadating in the battle?
if this helps im not normaly the kind of player who rly has a huge battle plan i normaly change and hope for the best but i decided ive seen to many of my orcs get slaughtered by empire cannons that way so its best to have a plan an with dwarfs i cant rly dive in head first
also i already have a small dwarf army it is:
unit of warriors
Dwarf King Alrik
so i dunno what to buy next im thinking mebbe iron breakers cos they look beasty tell me what u think
Have alot of warriors, they are the best core/cost effective unit in the game.
Don't get lured into using too many war machines, this can backfire if your opponent as scout/flying units to go after them.
Iron breakers are sweet, but I like long beards better, they are much more versatile.
I'd go with some warriors first with heavy armour, hand weapon, and shields then some ironbreakers to back them up, because lets face it, Ironbreakers are the toughest foot troops in the game and can dish it out too. Just have a balanced force at first then customize it how you prefer once you have a feel for'em.
All of the elites- Hammerers, Longbeards and Ironbreakers- all rock hard unitsOriginally Posted by lloydzz22
Slayers- when sued correctly- can make mincemeat of enemy units
A tooled up Dwarf Lord can take on all comers too
And who needs mobility when you can sit it out, decimate the enemy with war machines, thunderers and crossbows and then take them apart in hand to hand when they finally reach you?

i was thinkin havin a front line of iron breakers long beards an a few warriors with slayers behind to mop ny thin up they gets past(if anythin dose) with my cannon firein like hell an have crossbow men an thunderers behing the slayers an mebbe miners to take out enemy lords or cannon crew?
if u got ny better ideas tell me plus is dwarven magic good? an what about rangers?
*** MOD EDIT ***
lastnight i was reading alot of battle reports an nearly every time the warriors got into combat they turned and fled are they like the skaven slaves? or would it be better if i just used ironbreakers long beards slayers and hammerers?
