ello my fellow lords i was just wondering what special choices do u take in your armies? because there all so good and u want at least 2 of each in ur army but alas we're limited even though longbeards are core in the new book miners are specail and are not 0-1 which makes me want to take more! and not to mention the war machines one game i took a dogs of war cannon cause i didnt have enough special choices so plz tell me what u take in a 2k armylist in ur 4 precious special choices?
I my army I'll be taking 3 units of slayers, and a unit of slayer pirates. Why? Simply because people hate the storm of chaos Slayer list with it's doom seekers and free moves.
At least, I'll have some breakable units now ^_^
I normally go with Ironbreakers, Slayers and a Cannon. With the new list, I'll be adding Miners to my special choices, I just need to paint them first.
Wood Elves 2/0/1
Orcs & Goblins 0/1/0
Next Army - Tomb Kings
Normally I go with IB's, hammeres and a cannon/ST. Still like the S6 attacks and the big rock hard units..!
I like my warmachines so its generaly filled with cannons stone throwers and bolt throwers with the next edition I think ill still do the same.
Personally i take Hammerers, Ironbreakers, Stone thrower and 2 Boltthrowers.
Only A Dwarf Can Appreciate A Hairy Woman
My personal choices are a big unit of ironbreakers(20 strong min),a cannon,2 bolt throwers (get 1 as a free choice) and a small unit of slayers (often ignored by my opponents due to small unit size and lack of armour but still unbreakable)
Those that are as hard as stone shall break as stone
Those that are as hard as wood shall break as wood
I have to go with Wolf Pack 2 units of slayer + drongs +hewer will get you well on your way to ignoring most of the bad psychological threats out there. Now that leaves you room for 2 BTs (with engineers and great BS) and cannon or iron breakers.
Course by this point you are 1/2 way through your heroes. So pick up a thane for a good BSB and maybe a RS for 2-3 spell breaker runes.
Now in core it would be nice to have 1-2 warriors (or a long beard unit) and some missile troops to help set the stage for successful combat resolution.
i'm prob going to change it up every battle. Mostly i think that i'll go with a ST, a Cannon, a unit of IB and a small unit of miners (5-10)
Mr. Burns: Why is everyone being so insolent today?
Smithers: Well sir, it is christmas...
Mr. Burns: I'll decide when its christmas!
