I was just looking over on GWs WHFB site and I was scrolling through the armies as I was bored (I collect 40k IG ) and came across the dwarves (by far one of the best looking armies)
now I'm really only into the modelling, painting and collecting side of the hobby and I just have a few questions
1.What are the scale differences between wh40k and WHFB models ( I don't want dwarven warriors sitting on my shelve to be bigger than my IG cadian shock troops)
2.I see the bases are all joined together in a kinda square/rectangle i'm guessing they do separate?
just i'm going down town tommorow and if I see some dwarf models I might not be able to hold myself from buying them. :unsure:
Your standard dwarf is a wee bit shorter than your average 40k duder but to give a good idea on scale you can fit 2 normal dwarf warriors in a singe slot of a GW carry case.
To understand the square base thing you have to know that WFB units deploy in regiments and formations. The best thing to do would be to buy the big red book and read up.
spambot kill tally: 79
[16:19] <@Alzer> Arky's right though
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^
but as I said -so i'd rather not pay £30 or whatever it is for the "big red book"now I'm really only into the modelling, painting and collecting side of the hobby
but anyhow thanks
GW gives you seperate base for each model, and they used to supply what they calle "regiment bases"(not sure if they do anymore, they dont over here in the US at least) they were longer bases that could fit about 4 models on. they were mostly for removing casualties and keeping guys in formation easier, but whether to use them or not is up to you! hope you like your dwarves when you get em'!
sorry double post

ok my plan is sorted
there are 5 models that i'll have to decide between if I see (i'll buy only one of them) them tommorow when I go into town
WH40k Imperial guard
I mean one regiment/unit/tank
oh and also i'm guessing the kasrkins have metal parts that need superglue to be attached (grumbles)
you have to be 16 or some crap for them to sell me glue lol
(in case I sniff it lmao)
WOW!!! LOL!!! ROFL!!! yYOU HAVE TO BE 16 TO BUY SUPERGLUE!!!!!! HILARIOUS!!!!! whew.... ha... oo. wow, priceless. anyways, yes the kasrkin are all metal, which sucks if you only have plastic glue. well, then i would go for a leman russ then. i think its all plastic!
but i'll try my luck and try to buy it. (lets just hope its not the manager as shes a %&%^*%! well not really but she won't sell me it)
p.s if your still online go on flashchat
