I'm building a Slayer army but since the new Dwarf book came out I have had a couple of problems with the heroes.
The Daemon Slayer has been reduced from 130 points to 110. THe Dragon Slayer has also been reduced in points, 65 to 50 and has had his toughness increased by 1 to 5 and his rune allocation increased to 75! Can I use these alterations in my Slayer list? Help!
Until they FAQ it, I think you're stuck with the old point values. However I would recommend looking at the old Dwarf book. If the cost of the demon and dragon slayers printed in the old book are the same as the costs of the demon and dragon slayers printed in the SoC book... then you should be able to get any reasonable person to agree to the new values.
Isn't it good that the slayers are reduced in cost?
Anyway, I'm sure any decent opponent will let you use the old rules.
I think the general consensus is you use the points and stats from the Storm of Chaos list. All special rules come from the dwarf book so slayer axes are now standard for all naked characters and units, which make the Brotherhood of Grimnir a better choice in slayer armies with their enhanced strength and initiative.
There are discussions that Gav Thorpe weighed in on at the Brewery that cover these changes until the new FAQ/Rules updates are posted.
It is quite dodgy to keep on going back from one book to another, choosing the best combination of rules.
Still use slayer axes though, I think - its deadly and I can't afford to lose it.
