ok, dont mean to offend anyone here, i know some people love these guys, but i really dislike the look of the slayer minis. I have never seen them in person, but i don't like what i see in the codex or other sites. Too me, the look kind of like those little treasure troll guys. with the big hair, and round poke out belly? anyway, you may be wondering why i just care, and just not take any slayers but...on the other hand there awesome! there story and background, character, concept, rules, skills, artwork, fluff, just awesome all around! except for the models. i doubt this is the case, but if anyone knows of alternate models or paint schemes for slayers to improve their look, i would love to know. Also, is any one of the opinion that they look significantly better in person on the table then in the pictures? (slayers aren't photogenic ha ha : ) does any one agree or disagree with whatever it is i just said? any one disagree? any comments would nice.
The Slayers got a few resculpt with the new army book. Doom seekers aer very nice looking, and I plan on using quite alot in my current armybas regular salyers (dispensing them of thier whirling axes of course). you can also fill your ranks with slatyer caracters and unit champions, they have a much better look.
You could do some converting to change the look, and I know what you mean. The thing I don't like is the exposed navel, it looks a bit 'childish'.
Painting slayers is in February WD.
thanks, but uh what are doomseekers, i didn't see them in my codex, where can i see them?
Additionally if you pick up off of e-bay or an older player some of the Marauder-line of slayers you will be very pleased. They are smaller and look better than some of the current line.
They're in the Storm of Chaos campaignbook, along with loads of other slayer stuff. They wield huge spinning axes and work sort of like fanatics - they're good.Originally Posted by viking dwarf
thanks for the replies, i'll check them out, as i definitely am going to want some sort of slayer element in my full army
Or even a whole slayer army, they're pretty cool but a bit limited. Always use slayers as flank anchors - you probably know all about this its in WD314 & 315Originally Posted by viking dwarf
