Today I bought a couple of slayer blisters and I fell in love with the models straight away. They look cool and are in really dramatice and fierce poses. But, like another person (viking dwarf) I have a couple of problems with them.
- They're in blister packs so are too expensive to get a huge army like I want
- Some of them seem huge and others seem tiny... honestly, their heads are completely different!
- They look plain unless I paint on some gold in which case the 'victim' stands out too much
- A couple of them are naked
- I think that they look very different as some are new and others were sculpted in 93 - a Chaos Dwarf range I think, they say marauder on the bottom!
I know that you can't sort out these problems, it's more of a complaint! Does anyone share my thoughts?
The current edition slayer models have been reculpted. they come in boxes of 10. This solves alot of the problem you mentioned, take a look on the GW website.Originally Posted by Eldarin
wait a minute some of them are naked? I was planning on using a unit of them in my army but I dont want a bunch of naked midgets running around with huge axes thats just disturbing. :x Does the new box have this problem?
Well I asked the guy at my local GW store and he said that there were not any boxed sets! Are they plastic? Also I've found that the models do not fit together on bases as many parts of their axes stick out, I hope that there is a specific order that they fit.Originally Posted by Wolf_PackA couple of poses are but it doesn't matter, because the beard covers it up. Actually the beards are so big that they cover up almost everything. I can't wait to fight with them.Originally Posted by Fraggleking

There is a box set of 10 slayers, the guy who works are your local GW store is wrong. They aren't plastic sadly, but be glad they have lots of detail.Originally Posted by Eldarin
Good point, that is true. Because Magic69 and Wolf_Pack both live in Canada they get more models ! I checked out the England GW store (this is where I live) and there are no slayer boxes, and in the US store there's loads more stuff, like regiments. Anyway, I couldn't find Thorgrim Grudgebearer in the US store.Originally Posted by Marvus
Can you order the box sets off the internet?Originally Posted by Eldarin
I actually have a box of the slayers and I am from the UK but these came with the army deal when they were first released. I have not seen any since, yet I know of GW US having boxed of Ironbreakers from before the change. It seems that GW is not really well co-ordinated worldwide.
I know... this really puts me off ironbreakers and slayers etc. If you want a proper unit of them you have to spend loads of money on one unit, and money is often a problem to me.Originally Posted by King Ulrik Flamebeard
This is why I now like longbeards, they're cheap. Back to the original slayer thing, I wish GW would release more stuff in plastic, I'd end up with a much bigger army. But then GW wouldn't make so much money. So that is why they make slayer blister packs only I suppose in the UK.
And Magic69, it will cost me much more to buy stuff from US than buying the blister packs here I think.
