I need some advice about the Goblin Hewer, Organ Gun and Gyrocopter. I'm thinking at the moment about what war machines I should use in my army and after already including a Canon (with rune of Forging) and a Bolt Thrower (with Engineer and Rune of Penetrating) I have enough points left over for one or perhaps two of the above.
What do you think are the strength and weaknesses of these war machines? I've never played with any of them, so personally I've no idea. I've left my Army List in the Dwarf Army List section of this forum so you can have an idea how the rest of my army shapes out. (My First Dwarf Army List - 2000 Pts - Friendly by Scotia).
Anyone with past experience of playing with these machines please let me know.
well ive used two of these three and i know a wee bit about the third so ill give some info.
organ gun: an absolute gun of a warmachine the organ gun is an anti-flyer , anti-fast cav , anti-skirmisher and anti knights weapon rolled into one. a great choice regardless of who you are fighting its high S and armour modifier make for a very lethal weapon indeed. its one weakness is really only its reliablity like most other warmachines. all round allways a good choice.
gyrocopter: more of an indirect combatent the gyro is used best as a march blocker/warmachine hunter using its fly move and high T to take out/harry your enemys forces from unseen angles.
gobbo hewer: the gobbo hewer can be best discribed as a very veyr odd bolt thrower and should be used in the same role generally. best used on deep ranked units/flanks of single line units the gobbo hewer is a pretty nasty machine. it also has a slayer crew which is very much harderto budge not to mention that repeater handgun. a very god machine all round but it does theif a hero slot so be careful building your list.
spambot kill tally: 79
[16:19] <@Alzer> Arky's right though
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> I know he is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> He usually is.
[16:20] <@Kaiser-> Sometimes it's intentional.
[00:01] <+zubus> i love you, ya skirt wearin nothern monkey! ^_^
Seeing as you have a Cannon and Bolt-thrower already, I'd be looking at the Gyrocopter and Organ Gun before considering the Hewer. The Hewer does much the same as what you already have, and taking that Hero slot is a big consideration.

Thanks for the replies.
I must admit that I was almost certain to take the orgun gun anyway, it was the gyrocopter and Goblin Hewer that I couldn't seperate. I have both models and although I really like the look of the Hewer (I really like the idea of a war machine operated by unbreakable slayers) if the gyrocopter is going to give me more options on the battlefield then I think that I'll have to get rid of my bias towards the hewer and take the gyrocopter
If anyone else has any comments please let me know.
