GW does indeed supply a model with shieldbearers

But there are a lot of dwarf character models including lords on foot, maybe thats the one you saw

Converting Alrik would be a good idea, I'm sick of the model and the conversion in WD314 inspired me.

Tactically, Shieldbearers are definitely worth it, they hardly cost anything and you get a 1+, 2 extra attacks and a GW !

    Good luck

That WD 314 had some great conversion ideas using a basic lord and I think some longbeards. I think issue 315 also had some conversion ideas too.

I just did a really simple alrik conversion, snipped the extra hand off his great weapon, and glued a shield and hand on the arm in front of him to get Shieldbearers and gromril armor and shield for a non-magical 1+ armor save.
