I really like dwarves, but Im not really sure how they work, or how the whole fantasy system works, so just for refearce what army in 40k are dwarves like.I really can't think of how to word this, so sorry if this is frustrating. Im just want to know what dwarves are like using a comparison with 40k.thanks

Dwarfs are slow, shooty, rock-hard with no magic. Not sure which race that coincides with best in 40K. Probs best not to make such comparisons, as the two games are totally different
Well, considering the strong points of dwarves: high leadership, good in close combat and decent shooting capablitities, and good armour saves, maybe some marine chapters are remotely comparable to them.
But basically, Stonehambey has put it right.
My guess would be Chaos Space Marines who play a traditional/stereotypical iron warriors army which focuses on not using Rhinos, and brings lots of big guns. Most (not all) dwarf players tend to play defensive and bring out the heavy artillery to bring the hurt. For example my 2K army brings 2 blocks of 20 Warriors with HW/SH, backed by Quarrellers x20, Thunderers x16, Hammers x15, Cannon x2, Bolt thrower x2, Organ gun x1. It can bring a lot of fire power to bear and really ruin someones day.
Side note: Why have Dwarves not figured out that wonderful world of the mortar??? and why don't more people use them
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
Honestly- Id say dwarves are most like a 40k army that consisted solely of Vindicators and Death Company (without jump-packs or rhinos). They slap things at a distance with warhammers most abundant artillery and are rock hard and near unkillable when you do reach them.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
