    hi all,

has anyone ever used a dwarf lord with three runes of fotitude (thats three more wounds) on yer rune lord?

or even a MR of adamant and a rune of fortitude on a dwarfs lord, then giving him a gret weapon and send him out to kill all?

if you have used these have they worked or similarly does anyone have a excellent defensive combos of runes?

    thank you.

Nah i havnt, but the ultimate tought lord has Master rune of gromril, rune of resistance and Master rune of spite. This gives him a 1+ re-rollable save and a 4+ ward

I'd have to agree, I always have my lord with the Mrune of gromril/rune of resistance/M rune of spite/great weapon combo. I keep telling myself that he should have a nice big powerful weapon but it never quite sets and I always return.

Hmm, nice combos. But I've always have had a soft spot for the "Lord Of Pain"

    Lord
    Gromril Armour, Shield

    MRoSwiftness, RoCleaving, RoCleaving

    RoStone

    MRoSpite

This lord hits first at S6 with four attacks, which will wound almost anything on 2's. For protection he has a 2+ save with a 4+ ward to follow, this lord will never go down without a fight and if placed in the Hammerer unit he should kill a few enemies which will allow more of your S6 hammerers at attack back.

    i would do like this:
    lord
    gromril armour
    great weapon
    master rune of gromril
    rune of fortitude
    master rune of spite

and put him with 20 hammerers or 28 ironbreakers with a master rune of fear carrying bsb, in addition u can give the bsb 2 x rune of sanctuary.

ok this is a rather expensive combination but indead it is powerful.

I have never thought of using a rune of fortitude, i'd rather take a rune of resistance for that re-rollable save. I'd say it can save you that extra wound more often than not, and will cost you 25 points less.

Flamebeard thats a nice lord of pain!

    Heres another entry:

    The all Rounder
    Rune of Fury
    Rune of Cleaving
    Master Rune of Gromril
    Master Rune of Spite

This guy gets five St.5 Attacks, a 1+ Save and a 4+ Ward. He can both hit hard and take the punishment that follows (Or more often the case, comes first)

He is often the lord i take to battle.

Here is my favorite, after lots of pondering

    Rune of Cleaving
    Rune of Might
    M. Rune of Swiftness

So thats 75 Pt Weapons giving him 5 S5 always goes first attacks. hes also S9 Vs anyone with a T of 5 or more, which means he ignores armor saves vs characters basically.

    Armor runes are

    M. Rune of Gromril
    Rune of Resistance

    50 Pts - 1+ armor save with a reroll.

This lord is my favorite combo.

Gromril armor with shield and rune os stone (Armor save 2+)

Master rune of spite (Ward save 4+)

Blade os shining death ( St 5 and no armor safe)

I always put my lord in the hammer regiment with the rune of slowness....so....i usualy charge the enemy ...

    Bené

P.S. sorry....but my english is not very good

I've had a change of mind and after hacking his way through 12 grail knights + a paladin I think I might stay with him a bit longer.

gromril armour, rune of stone, shield, M rune of spite, rune of speed, rune of cleaving, rune of fury, rune of resistance.

almost the 1+ re-rolled and 4+ ward, but also has an extra attack and rather than striking last he has a fair chance of at least eaqualing opponents (except those bald faced elves).
