    1,500 pt Friendly Eldar

This is a revision of a list I posted a long time ago.... not much time to work on 40k stuff in the mean time... but as before any help is very much appreciated.

    HQ:
    Farseer w/ guide (75)

    Troops:
    2 x (Dire avengers w/ exarch and blade storm) = 294

    Elites:
    Scorpions x 10 w/ exarch, shadow strike, bitting blade = 197
    Harlies x 10 w/ shadowseer, 4 x kiss = 226

    Fast Attack:
    5 x Shinning Spears w/ exarch, withdraw = 212

    Heavy support:
Falcon w/ scatter laster, holo field, spirit stones = 175
    2 x (fire prism w/ holo field, spirit stone) = 320

My main goals were to have a fast army, that was fun to play, and would win a few games. With these principles in mind I started down the road toward a mech force, but with my inexperience I was worried about the lack of units I would field with that army. Just putting in one transport for the harlies seemed like a half measure and would most likely mean loosing a prism or the spears, and adding up a bunch of transports gets very expensive points wise (but could be used to back up scorpions).

Again my worries w/ this list are the one infiltrating unit that will need to be backed up by the falcon and/or the spears quickly, or risk being the only target for a lot of nasty looking space monsters. I have tried to keep everything with either fleet of foot, or as a skimmer. In general I hope to be able to close the distance as fast as possible, with the prisms and falcons laying down fire to keep my opponents head down where possible. Thanks again for looking.

If possible give your scorps stalker. It's really cheap and can sometimes make a huge difference on the table as you'll tend to infiltrate in or around cover. I also prefir the claw to the blade a LOT. Your oppenets are usually going to have 3+ or better saves. The bitting blade isn't a powerweapon you know.

If you're going to move your falcon up anyway you might want to switch to a powerful 6 man shadowseerless unit of harlies and mount them up.

You also might do better with doom than guide since that allows a bonus to both DA units (or more things) if they're fireing at the same target.

I think you'll do fine though. Remember even when infiltrating you don't have to plunge your scorps into CC right away far from your lones. Against the sort of armies where they'll lose in CC often you'll want to position them so that they have a good charge andgle on any enemy models that advance. Allowing you to pour support fire from DAs at the enemy unit before they charge.

Looks ok. I'd suggest swapping the Biting blade for the scorpions claw on the exarch. The spears are good - don't see many of them - but be careful hwo they are used - I can see them getting taken down fairly easily.
If you can spare the points give your DA exarchs twin shuricats.
If you wanted to save some points drop the spears and get either a unit of spiders or hawks.
Personally I'm not a fan of harlies - I prefer banshees - but more than enough people on here will tell you to go with the harlies.

With this sort of list, I'd suggest playing pretty conservatively. Hide everything within support range of everything else, and zip around in the back of your zone with your tanks. Use your Avengers to kite. Just about everyone will eventually get annoyed enough to come to you, and that's when you surge forward in one spot and splatter stuff.

Keep your tanks safe and they can move 24" in the last turn to pick up objectives and whatnot.

Keep it tight, and don't let your spears, scorpions, or Harlies get isolated. You should be fine.

    hmm

i would either drop the harlies for another unit of scorps or reduce their number to 6, all with kisses, then add them to the falcon, as was suggested. This gives support to you scorps.

Why do you have shining spears? if it is because you like them then ok, but if it is because they are fast you should drop them for regualr jet bikes, a unit of 6, with a warlock ( with a singing spear, destructor or enhance to make them better at CC support). get 2 s.cannons and run them up as fire support along side the transported harlies/ falcon.

    Thank you for the replies.

I took the shinning spears to be tank/elite hunters, but I am not dead set on them. Dropping them frees up 212 points which I've considered spending on:

    Vypers
    Waveserpent
    Jetbikes
    Warp Spiders

I should probably just bite the bullet and get all of these options so I can use them when I want... but the money and the time are prohibitive for me right now. Thanks again to all who replied.

yes money is a huge monkey when it comes to WH40k.

But its a decent investment, wave serpents are great, so are jetbikes and vypers.

If you drop the spears and reduce the numbers in the harlies, you should have room for a 6-7 man jetbike squad with a warlock, singing spear and two s. cannons. plus maybe a jet bike for your farseer, put doom on him and a singing spear and hell be able to run around and hunt down ICs, vet sgts, or tanks!

With that list I'd take more warpies, the shining spears complement them very well.
