Looks like Mayor quimby beat me to the singing spear farseer, but I guess I'll post mine anyway just for posterity I promised myself I wouldnt start an Eldar amy until I had a properly converted jetbike farseer...looks like I'm getting Eldar stuff for X-mas! It was actually my first conversion...and I'm still working on my painting skills, but I thought I would share my experience.

It's a pretty straightforward conversion: just chop the singing spear farseer in half, and stick him onto the jetbike pilot legs. I covered my crappy chop job by covering the connection with green stuff modelled as robes. I just cut a trapezoid of green stuff and wrapped it around his legs with a couple folds.

A couple things I learned (I apologize if these are kinda noobish things):

1. Chopping through metal is hard work...until you get a dremmel. Then it's just plain dangerous! Wear safety glasses lol

2. Green stuff is really sticky! Water really helped stop it from sticking to my putty knife.

3. Don't smooth out the greenstuff with your fingers, use the putty tool. Fingers have fingerprints, and so will your greenstuff if you touch it.

4. Work on small patches of greenstuf at a time, and wait for it to cure before going onto the next patch...unless you like smushing your previous work, then getting really angry...

Hope that helps anyone who wants to do a farseer conversion!

Aka. Don't hold your breath. The conversions cost more, is the most likely explanation. You need to buy more than just a kit from GW to do it proper, you need two or three.

I planned on building a squad of 5 a while back. I was going to use..

Guardian Jetbike (using the actual Guardian model)
GK Nemesis Force Weapon sprues (shave down the shoulder pad, snip the halberd to make it look like a spear)
And GS a cloak on each Guardianseer / Guardilock.

I estimated each model to cost approx $22.

Well about a month ago now. I finaly took it upon myself to murder 4 different minis and make a Farseer on a Jetbike model. This is my first attempt to convert a model, and i have to say I've actualy enjoyed the challenge.

Appologies in advance for the crap camera phone photo's, and liberal use of blu tack to hold it together for the camera.

So here we are.

Thats 1 Eldar Jetbike with the back of the seat removed. 1 Farseer head. 1 Mounted High Elf mage torso and staff and the spear from a mounted High elf Hero boxed set.

And here what I've gotten to so far.

Sorry I'm late. I'm working on a Farseer on bike, and 2 Warlocks, one of which is done. He's a regular Warlock body, Guardian Biker legs and some greenstuff for the flappy robe. The bike is the original Eldar Jetbike.

This is my Farseer WIP. I used a classic Eldar Guardian that I've had forever. I had painted her long ago and did really really well on the face and eyes and didn't want to re-touch it. I cut off the dangling belt between her legs and bent her into a sitting position (yay for lead!) I used regular biker arms except for her original 'gun holding' left hand, repositioned for that 'using a power' gesture. I've since added greenstuff cloak and am almost done painting her.

Soulshades version with a little more conversion work.

-Dire Avenger shimmershield exarch hand
-spear head from a fantasy model (Don't remember which... There's so many with spears.....)
-Cut off feet so they wouldn't hang
-Cut off handle bars so the farseer could lean forward more.

well i was thinking about doing one of these, i already have 1 farseer, and he is on foot, and i didint have a jetbike anyway, but now, i have to keep my farseer behind cover, as my friends just target him and his warlocks, so i have decided to get 5-10 jetbikes, and convert one of them to a farseer, now i dont know if this will work, but i plan on getting my jetbikes, i have the dire avenger thing which seems to work fine, and just use the head of a farseer on the model? but then i am left with a farseer body and arms, with no legs, so i plan on using another DA head, and plan on making him a bodyguard, or another non HQ type model, and put the warlocks, with my foot farseer

hey guys, been like two years since I posted something here, but I decided to post some stuff on making warlock jetbikes.

First of all, something for all you players who dislike/are crap at sculpting or transfering icons on the front of the jetbike, buy the dark elf warrior box. Among other things, which I will get to in a second, they contain shields. Now, it's not the shields you want, but the dragons that are supposed to be glued on them. The shield has a slight curve, and thus so do the dragons. Thinking logically, I guesses that the curve would match the jetbike's, and rejoice, it did! Here's a pic of the result:

Then, on to the warlocks. I know some of you think warlocks MUST have robes, but I disagree. My warlocks are made from guardian rider legs, and everything else comes from the dark elf warrior box. Now, for example, that gives poses like these:

As you can see, there's three different weapons. I have 8 warlocks, 2 with the swords, 2 with the long spears, and 4 with the pointy halberd-things (one of which I attempted to paint). All of those are perfect to represent witchblades, and in my case I took this configuration since I have two warlocks with enhance/embolden, 2 without any powers, and 4 with destructor. This makes gaming easier and faster, and you don't get arguments like "I thought you said the destructors where in the back!!" In fact, I'm going to take some new pics, since these are from a few weeks ago, and aren't too clear on the detail. Here, for example, you see a 80% finished (just detail-work left, and base) warlock. Notice that I cut away the steer, and gave them arms from crossbows. These will be green stuffed to the sides of where the steering-sticks used to be with small ropes/cords/cables. Get it? Since eldar mind-control their bikes, and don't need a steering wheel, I decided to give em a cool twist by giving em a modernised version of a horse's whatever their called.

Also, here's the farseer I'm working on. By some twist of faith, I've also decided upon using the high elf archmage, though with a little difference from our other people here.

The legs with the cape coming from them are, unlike the guy above (who cut away the seat) placed OVER the seat. It only fits by a few milimeters, but it looks cool, and without the steer, there's enough room. It also fixes the problem with the huge gaping hole under the second, higher cape (which you can see, I still need to glue to the seer's back, but that'll only be doing after painting). Also, I won't be using a ghosthelm, or any other eldar head for that matter. I find that the scale doesn't fit, and it messes up my model to give it a huge helmet. Also, it fits my fluff, but that's too long a story to explain, except for those of you who've read my bat-reps over at warseer or 40k online. My farseer can manage, just accept that xD . Also, I still need to put the speartip on the spear, but I don't really feel like doing that right now, and I'm out of glue anyway. For the head, I'll be using this:

Click the image to open in full size.

Enlarge the pic, and you can see that, when painted accordingly, this head can be AWESOME for a farseer, and the hair will look great on a fast-moving jetbike. Also, I love how this model's eyes are really, you know, sticking out, so I'll be enjoying to make them look as cool as possible.

To sum it all up, the dark elf warrior box for warlocks, and the high elf arch-mage for a farseer. You don't even need to buy a farseer-model like these guys did to get a head
