The Battle for Aurora Prime is under way! Eldar players, check out the information thread here and get ready to participate in LO's first large scale Warhammer 40k campaign!

Faction Commanders

Each faction may nominate a forum member of that faction to be the faction commander during the Battle for Aurora Prime campaign. The faction commander will have access to special orders and privy to certain information that could grant additional bonuses to their faction for the campaign.

Faction Fluff

A feeling of weightlessness an eternity in the web way. Then Kelmon stepped into reality and onto Aurora Prime. It was always the way when passing through a gateway the thrill of the unknown and the terror of the unnatural. There was an interesting philosophical dichotomy to be examined but now was not he time. The Eldar had committed themselves to war. Their fate had taken them this far. Now they must summon the fury of Khaine and unleash it upon their enemies. Be swift in their victory and depart.

Around him the seer council scanned the immediate area for threats, assassins or traps. Eldar troops were pouring our of the Gateway, Kelmon felt a ripple in the warp as something truly massive forced its way through. Then the ground shook as the mighty form of a Phantom Titan strode onto the plains of Northern Akos.

The Eldar knew where to go and they followed their orders with elegant precision. It was not the immediate strategy that Kelmon was concerned with. That was Autarch Jyuna Krien’s province. As a farseer Kelmon was concerned with the future of the Eldar warhost of its possible fates and the paths it might take.

Kelmon closed his eyes and let his mind be swept forward. War, battle, death. These things were inevitable now. They had already started. But how to save the most Eldar and yet destroy the threat that even now stirred in the planets belly. Kelmon focused on a single strand of fate and followed it. It split into two and then four and then eight soon he found himself trying to follow an infinite number of possibilities. His eyes snapped open. He was nervous he couldn’t’t focus. Why?. He was not new to his role as farseer. He had trod the Witch Path for nearly four centuries.

Terror.

Yes, he was afraid. This was not the reactionary terror of survival, that leads one to run from terror. Nor the superstitious terror of the unknown. No this was a rational fear. A fear of something so obvious so truthful, yet so terrible he had been blind to it.

He calmed himself and followed the strands of fate along to their conclusion and saw the terror that had gnawed at him. He saw the path that would lead to their obliteration.

He saw the hope of victory

Kelmon touched the communication rune on his sleeve and patched into the Supreme Autarch of the Eldar Warhost.

“Krien” said Kelmon “This war can be won but it will require sacrifice. You must listen now to what I must say…”


The Eldar forces on Aurora Prime are made up of the combined united might of several different Craft Worlds and Eldar Pirate fleets. The threat of the Necrons on aurora Prime that any differences that might arise between the Craftworlds have been put aside to destroy this danger or die trying.

Under the inspired leadership of Autarch Jyuna Krien, the Eldar on Aurora Prime have divided their forces into four main warhosts. Two will strike at the Chaos Marines that hope to further weaken the bonds that bind the Necron Tombs. A third will move south to prevent human interference.

Finally the greatest of the Eldar armies, led by Jyuna Krien himself will move North to tackle the Necrons head on.

There are few battles when the Eldar are willing to all to claim a victory but Aurora Prime is such a battle. No fewer than three Avatars of Khaine have already been sighted. The lower atmosphere around the Eldar Gateways is filled with jet bikes, grav tanks and the scream of darkstar fighters. Meanwhile on the open tundras hundreds maybe thousands of aspect warriors have spilled out accompanied by countless guardian strike teams. On the flanks of the Eldar armies march Phantom and Warlock Titans ever watchful as mighty sentinels.

Northern Akos is not the only place where the Eldar have chosen to fight. The Eldar know that the humans will call for reinforcements. As such Eldar corsairs watch the space lanes around the Aurora system mercilessly attacking any and all Imperial vessels. The orbital defences of Aurora Prime themselves have already been sorely damaged by Eldar vessels and only the co-ordinated action of the Imperial cruiser The Emperors’ Wisdom and the ‘Star Swords’ have prevented complete eldar dominance in space.

well first of all we need to determine who is actually going to be participating. I have completed my first campaign game against a CSM player and won. Woot. I will be PMing the results after this. If no one cares I will be the commander as I am active on the board and play weekly.
