Guardian squads and just one heavy weapon platform?

At one point there was a rumor that said guardian squads can take two heavy weapon platforms. Now that the codex is out is there any truth to this?

    Err, no.
Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts.

Thats what we like, nice, succinct answers . . .

oh well, I guess if they were allowed two that would totally undermine their support role and you'd still see nothing but them isntead of dire avengers.

I don't know...I don't really see a point in dire avengers running around, trying to do something with their rapid fire RANGE weapons that are S4 when you can just shoot starcannons and missle launchers like crazy from the safety of their nice range, and keep an Avatar by them just in case somebody deepstrikes or something does end up getting into assault with them. I mean, I can see them being used in something other than victory points...but other than that...I'm just not a big fan.

Man, read your Codex. If it says assault it MEANS assault, not rapid fire. And of course, the ability to fire 3 shots from 18'' away is a complete waste of points, yeah whatever buddy.

Guys, why all the fussin' and a feudin'?
We dont all have to like all the new stuff. The new codex is great because the stuff is all balenced and viable. Last codex, no-one liked Avengers (OK like 2 people on this forum did). Now plenty of people do. Me and Sway arn't too impressed with them but many others are. However Sway has said he likes shadow weavers in another thread. I don't. This is perfect. It means variety.
EVERY slot has real viable choice, this is awesome.
Lets not all assume we know all the answers yet.

I'm still againt guardians from a fluff point of view, and I think they're pretty bad in game for the points, compare them to dark eldar warriors. Or even to guardsmen, +2 points for just +1 1 and a gun that some would consider better, but not for the role which guardians play, with any luck, they'll never have to use them. I don't think the support weapons are any good either though I adore them all fluffwise.
