propet of doom
full plate, pistol, biting blade, talismon of protection
10 halberd detachment
10 hand gunners
10 halberd detachment
lvl 2 wizard
If you have a spare four points, the captain would do well with a Sword of Might/Battle in place of the pistol/Biting Blade combo.
It definitely looks like a good starter list, not focussing too heavily on any one aspect of the game.
i got shields for spearmen as im looking for squads that can suit many purposes. for example if im charged by goblins or skellies wid no heroes ill go spear to kill off as many as i can but if im againts orcs or tougher units ill go shield to get me a nice 4+ save. ill try wat you suggested but thats my point of view a multi task unit capable of holding its on againts most unts.
i beat my frineds bret army with a massacre but i really think that brets gotta be the boring list every with there knights that dont die. so 1 win for us so far XD
any more comments would be apprecciated
Ok, I guess I can give it a shot.
Frankly I am not a fan of the spear or haliberd. Sadly, Empire is much better at throwing men at their problems and crushing it with the weight of their dead bodies than actually killing it themselves. But that is reality and so long as it furthers the Empire, I am all in. So Swordsmen are my choice of core, they are better WS (they match or beat all but Warriors of Chaos and Bloodletters), better I (once again matching or beating most) and a 4+ save to boot. Perfect for winning the static combat res game. Combine that and the detachment rule and you can be pulling off victories from units twice your point value. So, I might suggest taking those instead, true you won't be better off against weaker units like skellies or goblins but do much better against the tougher stuff (saurus, orcs, warriors, plaguebearers) where we can't seem to wound and get slaughtered in the process. I'm sure you've already read my arguement for lower numbers of flaggies on the other thread so I just say drop five or so. Also, it seems like your list is more CC oriented so consider taking crossbows (better range, more all comer because alot of stuff doesn't have high armour saves). Also, I think that you are over points by little less than a hundred or so, so dropping might be neccisary. Consider taking the captain mounted (gives him extra armour save) or a shield instead of a pistol because right now he is real easy to kill. And probably don't take a prophet, he can be singled out in combat and killed, so potentially a small waste of points. Other than that, pretty solid, well rounded list. Alot of this stuff is minor tweaks to help you: you have solid blocks with support from detachments and characters, you are present in all three phases and a stategy to win it seems. Looks alright by me. And contrats on the win, those Brets need to know that while the Lady is quite fine, it take a real man like Sigmar to carry the day.
XD i dont agree with the flages again becuase the more they have the longer they last which gives you more chance to flank. propet i can c here u going with i might change that. also spears are the same point cost at swordmen and can have a nice 4+ save or 5 more attacks so are more versitle. i really play defensly and let my artillery kill them a little and then move in for the kill so i get charged. its a cc defensive army i i would say XD
oh and i will get a shield XD i figured that out. oh also in the rule book it say you can pick who u challenge but i see people say take captain to recieve the challenge. so in thiry you cant pick the oppents guy to challenge?? help will be appreciated.
