Hi. Looking to start up Empire. Not really sure what I'm doing so I'll post the list I came up with and invite all comments.
1 Warrior Priest of Sigmar
Great Weapon; Meteoric Armour
1 Battle Wizard
Lvl 2; Rod Power
5 Knightly Orders
Detachment - 10 Halberdiers
1 Great Cannon
Total Army Cost: 1002

drop the HA and shield and give him the armour of meteoric iron.
also, the icon of magnus can be really helpful when facing VC,etc.

knock him off the horse. He should be safe in one of your shooty units.Armour of tarnus is boring. take the rod of power to enchance your dispelling and casting!

you are right about the 5-6 thing. 8 is too wide a frontage, and wont give you ranks if made 2x4. 5 is pretty good as flanking unit with a musician.

looks good. I like to field militia as detachments for more attacks. but that is just me.

- I read here previously that you should have one of each type...though two units of guns appeal to me more.
you are right about this. i would say keep one of each. if you only have handgunners you will be outshot by WE, etc. The xbows are good at drawing your enemies nearer since they have longer shooting distance than most units. Dont take the champ on the xbows though. the Hochland rifle is what you want for handgunners. crossbow champions arent worth it.

- Not sure if they're worthwhile, but I like the models.
cant help you there. havent used them. they can be great to tying up other units. although you might want more of them if you want to martyr them.

I like the character combos a lot better.
Managed to fit in more Flagellents...it was a toss up between them and a volley gun.
It looks sweet but I don't understand...
You have to roll the artillery dice three times, three chances to blow up, and then you still have to hit using BS3 (without engineer).
So even if you survive the artillery rolls, you are still going to miss half the time?
Do they actually work for people...?
