I'm going to play a tornament in this weekend so I need some advice on how to play this army I've created.
The armies who is in this tornament are empire, lizardmen, dwarfs, skaven, high elves and vampire counts. So a lot of variations there is.
The tornament also plays on 2000 pts with now lord and no DoW in non-dow armies.
Captain: barded warhorse, fullplate, shield, the white cloak, sword of might
Captain: Battle standard, barded warhorse, fullplate, shroud of Magnus
Battle wizard: level 2, rod of power, ring of volans
Battle wizard: level 2, wizards staff, scroll
Knights: 5 st, musician
Swordsmen: 25 st, Full command
8 free company
Swordsmen: 23 st, Full command
7 free company
2*10 crossbowmen (not detaschments)
Greatswords: 20 st, full command
Pistoliers: 5 st, musician, outrider with repeater piatol
Mortar: 1 st
Flaggellants: 15 st
Gryphon legion: 5 st, musician
So whats your suggestions on how to play against these armies I will fight in this tornament?
I think I should play my 4 blocks in the center most of time and keep them close to each other.
I also wonder what you think if I let my crossbows go on one flank each with knights?
a cannon is probably needed, I'd drop something to get one.
This is a build very close to what I use. Drop the White Cloak, and give him the Shield of the Gorgon, and that's him. What you do here is your call, really.Captain: barded warhorse, fullplate, shield, the white cloak, sword of mightI'd say place him in the Greatswords unit.Captain: Battle standard, barded warhorse, fullplate, shroud of MagnusNot a bad little array of spellcasters here.Battle wizard: level 2, rod of power, ring of volans
Battle wizard: level 2, wizards staff, scrollI assume you intend to place the general here? Maybe add a unit champion to intercept challenges.Knights: 5 st, musicianNice unit, possibly a bit big though.Swordsmen: 25 st, Full command
8 free companyAs above, and the Detachment could use an 8th person.Swordsmen: 23 st, Full command
7 free companyI'd say make one of these units Handgunners, for the increased variety.2*10 crossbowmen (not detaschments)Needs a combat detachment. Otherwise, a good unit.Greatswords: 20 st, full command
5 ArchersLoving this unit.Pistoliers: 5 st, musician, outrider with repeater piatolNice piece.Mortar: 1 stGood unit.Flaggellants: 15 stNever used these guys. In fact, I didn't know tournaments still allow them.Gryphon legion: 5 st, musician
Hope this helps.
