    Friendly 2k empire list- critisism needed

    Ok thoughts and tips please.

    Arch lector
    -war alter
    -armour of meteoric iron
    -doomfire ring
    -the crimson amulet
    -dragon bow
    -great weapon

    Captain
    -battle standard bearer
    -griffon standard
    -full plate armour

    Battle wizard(death or shadow)
    -lvl 2
    -rod of power
    -power stone

    Battle wizard(beasts)
    -lvl 2
    -van horstmann's speculum
    -sigil of sigmar

    30x halberdiers(with beasts wizard)
    -full command

    30x spearmen(with captain and other wizard)
    -full command

    20x flagellents

    5x pistoleers
    -outrider
    -repeater pistol

    5x outriders
    -barding
    -champion
    -hochland long rifle

    2x mortar

    1x steam tank


    so any comments would be greatly apreciated.

    The list is ok, but I will suggest a few improvement.

    I would suggest removing one of the mortars and the steam tank. In my experience both are fairly ineffective. Replace the mortar with a Helblaster. This war machine can be unreliable but it also can be extremely effective.

    I would suggest adding a Knightly Order Unit. A Unit of 8 can be a very useful when dealing with some of the enemy's harder hitters.

    Finally, consider breaking down your infantry groups to 25 and adding detachments of 10. Detachments are fairly effect units and can make all the difference in combat.

    Flagellants are good too... 1 group of 20 is all that is necessary...

    HI Brotha.... i have many tips so i can help u....

    there are many things u have too change or to put in there lets start :

    1) Your Lord Dont need so much waste points as dragon bow has not so good BS..... keep him cheap with

    1+save ward mb add him a magic weapon...

    2) your wizard with rod is ok but u have no dispell scrolls....that hurts....change ur second wizard with 2xdscrolls

    3) i noticed no cavalrY in the LIST! not EVEN 5 man just to hold or flank attack?

    4) change 1 mortar to-----> cannon is our BEST WARMACHINE EVER KILLS anything... 1 with stank is fine 2+stank = perfect!

    5) too many flaggies get them out save points add a hellblaster for more shooty in there cause i think mortars out... and add knights

    6)too many blocks in there u get their points back? i think BSB is too bad special on foot no longer

    griffon standard counts since is 60 points.....and ony bsb takes it...

    Now my halberdeer unit and detachments will be able to take out anything they have to throw at me.

    mortars can blast them to pieces(especially against tightly grouped horde armies- goblins, skaven...empire)

    my steam tank can support any unit and take out any major threats with ease.

    the unit of 15 militia will go in front of the war alter to use as a charge shield.

    the outriders can fire 12 handgun shots a turn(hitting on 4+/5+) and a hochland snipe (hitting on 3+/4+). also they dont use up the space a unit of 15 handgunners do.

    my army gets 6 power dice per turn with additional ones due to the rod of power.

    5 bound items a turn + once per game ring of volans.


    my army gets 6 dispel per turn dice with additional ones due to the rod of power.

    (by the way notthing will have the chance to hit my flank due to all the shooting/artillery on one side and a steam tank on the other)

    how about this one then.

    I don't know about you, but I've always thought Swordsmen made better infantry blocks (due to their better save, they can hold for longer), with Halberdiers as detachments for high-Strength flank charges.

    what i like about large units of halberdeers with shields is that you can either use halberds and be s4 6+ armour save. or you can use hand weapon and shield and be s3 4+ armour save. this is for the same points as a spearman.
