    Great 1k List (I Think)

I have a friendly game coming up against a infantry heavy Lizardmen army.

    - 30 Saurus Warriors (Spears) 2x units
    - 20 Saurus Cold One Riders 2x units
    - Ancient Stegadon (Engine of the gods)
    - Skink Priest

No skinks, but plenty of hard hitting units and a fair amount of magic.

I've come up with a counter list, but I am on the fence on whether I should take more magic defence, more infantry, or another great cannon. Please help!
    Heroes:

    Captain: 1 Model /Lance /Full Plate Armor /Sheild /Barded Warhorse /Holy Relic
(Warrior Priest: 1 Model / Second Warhammer /Armour Of Meteoric Iron)
    Or
(Battle Wizard: 1 Model /Level 2 /Dispel Scroll x1) EDIT: I'm thinking lore of light (Dazzling Brightness+Guardian light)

    Core:

    Swordsmen: 25 models /Standard Bearer
    Handgunner Detachment: 10 Models
    Halberdier Detachment: 5 Models
    Flagellant Warband: 10 Models

    Special:

    Knightly Order: 6 Models /Musician /Inner Circle

    Knightly Order: 5 Models /Musician /Inner Circle

    Great Cannon: 1 Model

    (Great Cannon: 1 Model)

    or
    Rare:
    (Flagellant Warband: 10 Models)

    Stratagy:
    1. Fire Great Cannon at Stegadon until it dies
    2. Hold of Saurus Spearmen with My Swordsmen block
    3. Take out Saurus cavalry with my Knights
    4. Hit Saurus Spearmen at the flanks with my Knights
    5. Win
Will I be able to take out the Stegadon quick enough with only one cannon?
Or should I bring a mage to hold off his magic phase, then proceed to dominate it after the stegadon goes down.

Or if I am totally off with this list any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with Lizardmen, but I can pitch a bit of regular army advice.

    Captain: 1 Model /Lance /Full Plate Armor /Sheild /Barded Warhorse /Holy Relic
(Warrior Priest: 1 Model / Second Warhammer /Armour Of Meteoric Iron)
    Or
(Battle Wizard: 1 Model /Level 2 /Dispel Scroll x1) EDIT: I'm thinking lore of light (Dazzling Brightness+Guardian light)

I wouldn't bother with the Holy Relic, either spend the extra 5 points on shroud of magnus or lose it for something cheaper (maybe something with magic resistance). As for the Warrior priest (if you choose to take him) I'd lose the Meteoric armour and throw the dude on a horse, fill your IC knights with frothing rage.
    Swordsmen: 25 models /Standard Bearer
    Handgunner Detachment: 10 Models
    Halberdier Detachment: 5 Models

Why not 9/10 halberdiers and 5 handgunners?

    Flagellant Warband: 10 Models

Beef these guys up a bit (if you got the models)

    Knightly Order: 6 Models /Musician /Inner Circle

    Knightly Order: 5 Models /Musician /Inner Circle

Throw that warrior priest in one of these fellas, and do they both have to be inner circle? I'd put the warrior priest in an IC unit and the genral in a regular old one. Maybe drop a dude to get more points.

As for the Cannon or Flaggelants I'd take neither and get some more cheap infantry just to have dudes on the table

Just my thoughts fella, thanks for listn'n

Thanks for the reply Lister_ST.Clair. I am a new fb player and I did not realize the full potential of hatred for IC lance knights. Sadly I am restricted in the amount of infantry I can use, what I have on the list is all the models I own.

I have created a new list, but my strategy remains the same.

    1. Decimate his cavalry with my IC knights with hatred.
    2. Hope that my 1 Great Cannon will be able to take down his Stegadon.
    3. Hold off the Saurus with the swordsmen block and flagellants until I can hit them with my knights.

My biggest fear is that I will not be able to take down his Stegadon quick enough with just 1 GC. I'll have 4 dd, but with the engine of the gods and a priest he might be able to cause plenty of casualties.

Does anyone have any experience with Stegadons(other than buying a stank), I would appreciate any advice.

    Special:

    Knightly Order: 5 Models /Musician /Preceptor /Inner Circle
