Just looking to get feedback on a proposed army list. Sylvania is characterised by lots of militia and the personal guard of the noble leading them. While staying reasonably fluffy, I've tried to at least make it effective. Criticism welcome!
Sword of Might, Sigil of Sigmar
Full Plate Armour, Shield
Armour of Meteoric Iron
Extra Hand Weapon
Detachment: 10 Halberdiers
20 Free Company
Detachment: 5 Free Company
Captain goes with the Greatswords. Warrior Priest goes with Swordsmen and tries to keep them Unbreakable. Crossbowmen keep the Cannon company while the Free Company and Huntsmen are support and harrassment units.
I think you have a solid force, but there are a few things you might want to consider...
1) You have no magic (1 bound spell). This is fine, but it's a shame not to utilize an entire phase.
2) Your captain setup is not the best. By taking a magic sword, he cannot use the parry bonus for hand weapon and shield (because magic weapons dont follow hand weapon rules). This gives him a 3+ save which is okay but not great. I'd rather take an enchanted shield to give him a 1+ save.
3) You have no speed. This may not be a problem because you have solid block troops and ample missile troops, but mobility might be an issue.
Other than these 'considerations', I like the list. It looks fluffy, robust for 1k, and fun to play.
"...and thee shall know the Emperor's might when thy enemies fall before thy guns. No crude Orkish blade can pierce thy anointed armor, nor any twisted alien resist the sting of thy sword." ~Major Kaelen Rhodes
I've been collecting warhammer for almost 7 years, and in all my time I've never heard of the term "fluffy" what does this mean?
